The New York Giants are third in the NFL in dropped passes (26) this season, behind only the Cleveland Browns (31) and Green Bay Packers (28).
The Browns have resolved their issue by trading Amari Cooper to Buffalo at the trade deadline. He leads the league in drops with 11. Tight end David Njoku and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy have five drops apiece.
Two of the Packers’ young wideouts are in the top five — Dontayvion Wicks (8) and Jayden Reed (7). Romeo Doubs, another talented young wideout, has six drops
Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox created separation on all seven of his opportunities in Week 13.
The way Rams QB Matthew Stafford controls the LOS with a motion-heavy offense is one of the more fascinating processes in the NFL and happens lightning-fast (it has to!). Stafford took me and @FB_FilmAnalysis inside the complex operation: pic.x.com/kzRrF9dRTP
Jared Verse is having such a great season that simply classifying him as one of the best rookie defenders in the NFL is an understatement. Through 12 games, he’s proved to be one of the best defensive players anywhere in the league.
He just happens to be a rookie.
His 55 total pressures are the third-most among all edge rushers and his 14 QB hits are tied for the most at his position, too. His Pro Football Focus grade of 84.9 ranks 10th among edge rushers, just to put into perspective how dominant he’s been
Michael Hoecht doesn’t get a lot of attention on a Rams defense that’s full of young stars. However, the fourth-year player has carved out a role for himself in Los Angeles after transitioning from defensive tackle to edge rusher in the last three seasons.
While he may not put up huge numbers or stand out in the highlight reels, he is an integral part of the defense and the Rams’ locker room. If nothing else, he always brings the energy and he now has the haircut to match it.
Hoecht was mic’d up against the Saints on Sunday and he debuted a fresh mohawk in the Big Easy. It’s a fitting look for a guy who’s always going 100 mph, as evidenced in the video below. He’s always talking on the sidelines and pumping up his teammates, even headbutting their shoulder pads a couple of times – because that’s apparently what he does
