Last week, I wrote about a breakout fantasy basketball player for each team in the Eastern and Western conferences.

Today, we’re going to name a fantasy MVP from every team. Some of these will be rather obvious, but some of my picks will surprise you. Let’s discuss the Western Conference after already looking at the East.

Denver Nuggets

Nikola Jokic is the obvious choice from the Nuggets. I believe he’ll remain the top fantasy player in the league for at least one more season.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards will be the Minnesota fantasy MVP this season. I think he’ll continue to improve his averages this season, and I honestly don’t see any other Minnesota player getting all that close to him as a fantasy player.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is another obvious choice. The Oklahoma City leader is a top-five fantasy performer, and I don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t continue this season. Chet Holmgren is also great, and while I think he’s going to improve in a big way, he still won’t challenge SGA as a fantasy asset (unless injuries are involved).

Portland Trail Blazers

I got Anfernee Simons leading Portland from a fantasy perspective. His scoring will dominate the headlines, but he’s a pretty well-rounded player, and as long as he plays enough games, he should lead Portland.

Utah Jazz

I got Lauri Markkanen as the top Utah fantasy player this season. His injury history scares me a bit, and Collin Sexton is going to be right there, but I think Markkanen finishes with a few more fantasy points.

Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry is the clear choice from Golden State. He doesn’t even really have any real competition from teammates, and it’d take a lengthy injury to keep Curry from being the top fantasy performer.

Los Angeles Clippers

James Harden should pretty easily be the Clippers’ top fantasy player now that Kawhi Leonard is going to miss some time. Those are the only two real fantasy MVP candidates from the team.

Los Angeles Lakers

Anthony Davis will be the Lakers’ fantasy MVP this season. He has an injury history, but does enough on the court to still put up monster numbers. Plus, his only real big competition for that spot is LeBron James, and he’s probably going to miss more games than Davis.

Phoenix Suns

I have Kevin Durant as my Suns’ fantasy MVP. Devin Booker was also in consideration, but I’m giving the older Durant the edge after he led the way last season.

Sacramento Kings

I got Domantas Sabonis leading the Kings again this upcoming season. De'Aaron Fox is another fine fantasy option, but it’s hard to match the well-rounded stats Sabonis puts up every night - an injury to Sabonis is probably the only way he doesn’t finish as the team’s fantasy MVP.

Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic is going to be the Dallas fantasy MVP unless injuries derail his season. Kyrie Irving is his only big-time competition, and Irving misses more games on average, so it likely won’t even be that close by the end of the season.

Houston Rockets

Alperen Sengun is my choice from the Rockets. The only thing that held him back from that honor last season was games played. I actually think Sengun will establish himself as one of the better fantasy big men in the league overall this season.

Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant is my fantasy MVP pick for the Grizzlies. Injuries derailed Morant’s season last year, but I think he’ll return to being a top-end fantasy talent this season.

New Orleans Pelicans

I got Dejounte Murray as my New Orleans fantasy MVP. I considered Zion Williamson, but think the difference in games played will help Murray finish as the top fantasy player. Williamson will probably average more fantasy points per game, however,

San Antonio Spurs

Victor Wembanyama is going to be the Spurs’ fantasy MVP. He already was the clear fantasy top option for the team in his rookie season, and I see big leaps forward for him this coming season. He should contend with Jokic and Doncic for the top fantasy player in the game if he plays enough games.
