2023 NFL Playoffs Futures Bets: Can Jalen Hurts Finish As The Super Bowl MVP?

Mark Morales-Smith Jan 11th 5:40 AM EST.

The NFL regular season is over, but that just means things are about to get exciting. This is when we start to get ready for the playoffs when the best of the best face off and we eventually crown a Super Bowl Champion. Tonight, we are going to break out our crystal ball and try to see into the future and win some money with our futures bets. Futures bets are bets that won’t be resolved for weeks in some cases even months, however, most of these will all be settled by the Super Bowl in February but we may sneak in something you’ll have to wait a bit longer for. We are going to take a look at the best bets you can make today to win you some money in the future.

Futures Bets

1. If you want to win some big money and attempt to outsmart the system there are two obvious x-factors you can focus in on. They are Lamar Jackson and Tua Tagovailoa. This is a case of great risk coming with potentially great reward. We are not sure if either quarterback will play this week which will spell almost certain doom for the Ravens and Dolphins in Round 1.

However, if they do end up playing both teams have proved that they can play with anyone in this league when their play callers are healthy and under center. Which both have the potential to be. We’ve already seen the Dolphins beat the Bills once and play them to the buzzer in the snow in Buffalo. We’ve seen the Ravens knock off the Bengals this season. So here are a few bets you can swing for the fences with before it’s announced whether these QBs are playing are not.

AFC Conference Champions

Baltimore Ravens, +1800

Miami Dolphins, +3000

Super Bowl MVP

Lamar Jackson, +4000

Tua Tagovailoa, +6500

2. Sometimes it’s also good to go with the chalk. The Eagles have dominated the NFC all year. We have a tendency to get bored with things at times and look for a reason why the obvious won’t happen. Nevertheless, from start to finish the Eagles have been the best team in the NFC. Don’t be afraid to throw some money down on them to do what they are expected to do with these bets.

NFC Conference Champions

Philadelphia Eagles, +175

Name The Finalists

Chiefs vs Eagles, +650

Super Bowl MVP

Jalen Hurts, +650

  1. You can also play the odds and hedge your bet a bit in the NFC on betting on a division. The NFC East has three teams in the playoffs and in a wide open Conference, you can bet on any one of them to make it to the Super Bowl. The Eagles are the favorite, but the Cowboys and Giants have both proven to be legitimate threats in the NFC. Why not throw some money down on the group as a whole? The odds are skewed in their favor with three out of seven teams in the bracket.

Winning Division

NFC East, +300

  1. As long as it’s within your means don’t be afraid to have some fun with it. You can call your shot with a Super Bowl Exact Result bet. You can get great odds and it’s a fun bet to throw a few dollars on and see if you can hit. Even the most obvious bets can win you some money as the Chiefs to bet the Eagles is currently listed as +1300. A long-shot bet can win you a ton of money. Say you want to pick the Dolphins to beat the Giants. The odds are set at +100000. This means if you bet just $1 you will win $1,001. So don’t be afraid to have some fun with these and use them like a lottery ticket to bet on your favorite team or scenario you believe in that maybe your friends think is crazy.
  2. Last, and as a scout, I can’t resist, let’s just take one peek ahead to the NFL Draft and see who might just be the No. 1 overall pick in 2023. The obvious choice is to just go with a quarterback because that’s the direction teams tend to lean. Bryce Young is currently the betting favorite at -125 with CJ Stroud behind him at +175. However, the Chicago Bears hold that pick and while they could very well trade it, it’s unlikely they target a QB if they do not. Currently, I’m throwing some money down on the best player in the draft, but I’m sure we will revisit this quite a bit over the next few months.

2023 Number 1 Draft Pick

DL Jalen Carter, Georgia, +800
