Quarterbacks
Chicago’s Caleb Williams, Detroit’s Jared Goff, Dallas’ Cooper Rush, Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa and Green Bay’s Jordan Love are the locked-in starters for their teams. Tommy Devito or Drew Lock could start for the New York Giants.
Williams is coming off one of his better fantasy outings of the season. He’s scored 43 fantasy points combined over the past two games.
Goff only scored 11 fantasy points last week, and only has topped that mark once in the past four games. He scored 35 points in that other game though.
Rush had his best fantasy outing in week 12. He’s scored 34 fantasy points over his past two starts.
Tagovailoa is coming off his best fantasy showing of the year. He’s scored 52 fantasy points across the past two games.
Love scored 15 fantasy points in week 12. He had another 20 points in week 11.
Devito scored 11 fantasy points in his start in week 12. If he cannot play through a forearm injury, Lock would get his first real action of 2024.
The Giants’ starter will have the most favorable matchup of the Thursday quarterbacks, as Dallas allows 21 fantasy points a week. New York gives up 17 points a game.
The rest of the quarterbacks have below-average matchups, or worse. Green Bay and Detroit give up just 13 points a week, while Miami and Chicago allow only 12.
In the week 13 projections, Goff is projected for the most fantasy points (18). Tagovailoa, Williams and Love all sit at 16 points, while Devito and Rush are at 14 each.
Most of these quarterbacks are extremely close in my book. I like Tagovailoa the best of the bunch, followed by Goff, Love, Rush, Williams and then Devito or Lock. These guys will probably appear in the quarterback start decision story too, so be sure to check back for that.
Running Backs
De'Von Achane powers the Dolphins’ backfield, with Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright backing him up. Green Bay has Josh Jacobs leading the way and Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks as other options.
Rico Dowdle leads the Cowboys’ backfield, and Ezekiel Elliott is the top backup. Tyrone Tracy now leads the Giants’ backfield, with Devin Singletary and Eric Gray as the backups.
Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery power the Lions. D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson are the top Chicago backs.
Looking at the top fantasy back’s numbers only, Achane has scored 21 fantasy points in two straight games, and has reached double figures in six straight.
Dowdle scored 11 points last week, which was his first time in double digits in three weeks.
Tracy scored nine points last week, after 15 the week before. He’s alternated double-digit and single-digit performances the past six weeks now.
Jacobs had his best fantasy game in week 12, and has combined for 53 fantasy points over the past two games.
Gibbs scored 25 points last week, and has at least 13 points in six straight. Montgomery, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, has at least 13 points in five straight contests.
Swift scored 10 fantasy points last week, and has 26 over the past two games.
It’s a very favorable matchup for the Giants’ RBs, as Dallas allows opposing backs to score 26 fantasy points per game. The Giants surrender 25 points a week.
Chicago gives up 23 points a week, while Miami allows 23. Green Bay surrenders 21 points, and Detroit allows only 16.
The weekly projections like Gibbs the most, as he’s projected for 17 PPR points. Jacobs is projected for 16, as is Achane.
Tracy and Dowdle are each projected for 14 points. Montgomery is at 12, although that could rise if he’s cleared to play. Swift is at 11 points. Singletary and Johnson are at six points each, Mostert four and Elliott three.
I also like Gibbs the most on Thursday night, and by a decent margin. I’d take Jacobs next, followed by Achane.
If Montgomery plays, I’d take him fourth. I’d then go with Tracy, followed by Dowdle. Swift falls last among the starting backs playing on Thursday.
For the remaining backups, I’d go Johnson, Singletary, Mostert, Elliott, Wilson, Wright, Brooks and Gray.
Wide Receivers
Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are the only two real relevant Miami wideouts. Green Bay has Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks that are worth mentioning.
CeeDee Lamb leads Dallas, with Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin also factoring in here and there. Malik Nabers guides the Giants, with Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton also mixing in.
Amon-Ra St. Brown is the Lions’ leader, with Jameson Williams a good No. 2 and Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond helping out occasionally. Chicago has D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze.
Hill, who is nursing a wrist injury, has scored in double figures in five straight games, but has over 14 points just once. Waddle had his best fantasy outing in week 12, and it was the first time he scored in double figures since week 1.
Lamb has 36 fantasy points over the past two games. In week 12, Tolbert hit double figures for the first time in three weeks. Turpin has two double-digit performances all season, with the latest in week 11.
Nabers has scored in double figures in four straight games. Robinson has 10 points in back-to-back games. Slayton hasn’t scored in two weeks, and his last double-digit game was four contests ago.
Doubs, who is dealing with a concussion, hasn’t scored in double figures in any of the past three weeks. Reed scored just six points last week and had 10 the week prior. Wicks had seven fantasy points over the past four weeks combined. Watson followed up a 19-point outing in week 11 with none in week 12.
St. Brown, who is working through a knee injury, has scored 12 or more fantasy points in four straight, with 18 or more in three of those contests. Williams had 12 points last week and 23 the week before that. Patrick has 16 fantasy points over the past two weeks combined. Raymond, who is dealing with a foot injury, has six fantasy points over the past four games combined.
Moore went off for 27 fantasy points last week - he had 14 in week 11. Allen scored 24 points last week, but had just 25 over the previous three contests combined. Odunze had nine points last week and 13 the week prior despite getting 10 targets in each game.
The best wide receiver matchup belongs to the Bears, as Detroit allows 37 fantasy points a week. Dallas gives up 34. The rest of the matchups are below average. New York surrenders 31, Green Bay 29, Chicago 28 and Miami 27.
In the weekly projections, Lamb is projected for 18 PPR points, while St. Brown is at 17. Nabers is set for 15.
Moore and Odunze are projected for 13 points each, while Williams, Reed and Allen are at 12. Waddle and Hill sit at 11 each. Robinson checks in at 10 fantasy points, while Watson is at eight. Wicks, Tolbert and Doubs (7) and Slayton (5) also crack the top 70.
St. Brown is my top fantasy wideout for Thursday’s games, edging Lamb for that top spot. Nabers sits third, and Moore is fourth.
I like Hill next, and think he finally gets going this week. I’d take Williams here, followed by Odunze. I’d take Waddle next, and then grab a Packers’ wideout in Reed. I’d then go with Allen, who I think is the last good standard league starting option.
Leading the way among the deep-league options is Robinson. I’d then try Doubs if he plays, followed by Watson. I’d round things out with: Tolbert, Patrick, Wicks, Turpin, Slayton and Raymond.
Tight Ends
Miami’s Jonnu Smith, Dallas’ Jake Ferguson or Luke Schoonmaker, New York’s Theo Johnson, Green Bay’s Tucker Kraft, Chicago’s Cole Kmet and Detroit’s Sam LaPorta are the top tight ends in Thursday’s games.
Smith has been on a tear of late, scoring 52 fantasy points over the past two weeks.
Ferguson, who is dealing with a concussion, hasn’t scored in double figures as a fantasy performer since week 9. Schoonmaker has scored 27 points with Ferguson banged up the past two weeks.
Johnson is dealing with a back injury. He’s scored 15 points over the past two weeks.
Kraft scored 11 points last week after a goose egg in week 11. Kmet had 13 points last week, his first time in double figures since week 6.
LaPorta has only hit double digits in three games this season. He scored five points last week.
Green Bay and Miami allow opposing tight ends to score 13 fantasy points a week.
Chicago and Dallas give up 11 points per week. New York only allows eight points, while Detroit gives up seven.
In the week 13 projections, Smith is projected for 11 PPR points. LaPorta, Kraft and Kmet are all set at eight points. Ferguson is at seven points, while Schoonmaker is at four.
I’d also take Smith first among these tight ends, and I’d roll with Kraft next. I’d take a gamble on LaPorta here. I’d take Ferguson here if he plays, or replace him with Schoonmaker if he doesn't. I’d then take Kmet and finally Johnson.
