Week 4 Waiver Adds: Quarterback and Tight End Featuring C.J. Stroud, Luke Musgrave, and Much More!
Happy Monday! Week 3 threw us a few curveballs, so it's time to take a look at what that means for waiver adds heading into Week 4.
Half (very unscientific measure) of the battle for being successful in fantasy football is making sure you work the waiver wire. And you can never start working the waiver wire too early -- even after two weeks of the season.
With running backs and wide receivers coming in a separate article, let's take a look at the quarterbacks and tight ends you should be scooping off the waiver wire.

Quarterback
(ownership percentages are based on ESPN leagues)
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans (11.2 percent)
I covered Stroud last week, but he's still available in a LOT of leagues and warrants another spot here after his Week 3 performance. Playing against a Jaguars defense that limited Patrick Mahomes to 17 points in Week 2, Stroud put up 280 yards and two touchdowns while leading the Texans to a 37-17 win. Things get tougher against the Steelers in Week 4, but Stroud is currently QB11 on the year heading into Monday night's games. While I'd be surprised to see him end the year as a top-12 quarterback, he shouldn't be on waivers at this point.
Joshua Dobbs, Arizona Cardinals (1.1 percent)
Maybe Dobbs is for real? After putting up 25 fantasy points last week, Dobbs put up 17 against a really good Cowboys defense in Week 3 as the Cardinals pulled off the upset. Dobbs only threw for 189 yards, but was able to add 55 yards on the ground to salvage his day. A really tough matchup against the 49ers looms in Week 3, but Dobbs is proving to be more of a QB2 streaming option than a bottom-10 fantasy quarterback.
Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints (0.8 percent)
After years of trying to avoid having to rely upon Jameis Winston, the Saints seem to be forced ino that spot. Derek Carr has reportedly avoided a season-ending injury, but it looks like New Orleans will be without him for a couple of weeks. Winston is the ultimate roller coaster ride as he can simultaneously throw for 300 yards while also accumulating three interceptions. Assuming Carr is out, Winston will get a solid matchup against the Buccaneers next week so he could be a decent streaming option for Week 4.
Honorable mention: Kenny Pickett, Mac Jones
Tight End
(ownership percentages are based on ESPN leagues)
Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers (13.3 percent)
I'll preface this by saying it's hard to predict what will happen to Musgrave's production once Christian Watson returns, but the rookie is currently playing himself into being one of Jordan Love's top receiving options. After two promising weeks, Musgrave saw his highest target share in Week 3 with eight targets that went for six catches and 49 yards. While it would've been nice to see more yards and a touchdown, the eight targets are a great number to see. Musgrave should continue to build on this momentum heading into Week 4 and could play his way into becoming a low-end TE1 if he keeps this up.
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys (19.8 percent)
Through three weeks, Ferguson has seen 18 total targets and has turned those opportunities into 10 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Those aren't eye-popping numbers, but he's stepped in nicely following Dalton Schultz's departure and is worth a look in deeper leagues. While things get tougher in Week 4 against a Patriots defense that has limited tight ends this season, Ferguson is firmly in the TE2/streamer conversation.
Noah Fant, Seattle Seahawks (2.8 percent)
While Fant's production on Sunday (four catches for 51 yards on five targets) came with Will Dissly out, he still split targets with Colby Parkinson so it's not like this was completely fool's gold. We're not talking about TE1 production, but with the tight end landscape a complete crapshoot, Fant's last two weeks (eight total catches for 97 yards on nine total targets) are promising. He's third or fourth in line for Geno Smith's targets behind D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba, but Fant is a solid TE2 pickup with low-end TE1 potential.
Honorable mention: Jonnu Smith, Donald Parham Jr.
