Best NFL DFS Plays Week 5: Patrick Mahomes, T.J. Hockenson, Rashee Rice
Best DFS Quarterback Plays Week 5
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
He’s the most expensive QB on the board, but this could be a blow-up spot with a 3x at lower ownership than most anticipate.
Kirk Cousins, Vikings
I always love taking the underdog QB (especially at home) in the highest-scoring game on the slate.
Daniel Jones, Giants
He’s been a train wreck thus far, but I think this game could be closer than people imagine. His cost also allows you to stack your lineups with an extra skill player or two. Pair him with Darren Waller and bring back Jaylen Waddle and/or Tyreek Hill, and you are in business.

Best DFS Running Backs Plays Week 5
David Montgomery, Lions
He’s got two-TD upside every week and is playing a soft run defense. It feels chalky, but sometimes good chalk wins you tournaments.
Joe Mixon, Bengals
We’ve been waiting for the Mixon breakout game, and this might be it. He will dominate touches and should find his way into the end zone.
Breece Hall, Jets
The Jets want to get him more carries, and Hall is explosive enough to make a few huge runs against a Denver defense that looks like it’s given up.
Best DFS Wide Receiver Plays Week 5
Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals
Tee Higgins will likely be ruled out, leaving Chase as the one homerun player that the Bengals have at WR. Most people will turn to the cheaper Tyler Boyd, but taking down a millionaire maker requires a WR who can put up 40+ points. Chase is that type of player.
Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins
He’s been overlooked since his injury and is finally healthy and ready to break out. In a game where Miami should be putting up tons of points, I feel good about Waddle getting 100 yards and a TD.
Rashee Rice, Chiefs
My prediction is that there will be a Chiefs WR who breaks the slate. It could be Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, or Justin Watson. But I will take the chance that it’s Rice, who seems to be running more routes with each passing game.
Best DFS Tight End Plays Week 5
T.J. Hockenson, Vikings
The Chiefs have struggled to stop opposing tight ends, and most people will either be paying up for Travis Kelce, or dropping down to save money. Hockenson is that perfect low-owned middle-ground play who can get 20 points.
Darren Waller, Giants
Miami has struggled with tight ends, and Waller has just come off one of the most disappointing games of his career. The sims love him, and I do too.
Dalton Schultz, Texans
Sometimes, it’s a smart move to fill your flex spot with a WR, but occasionally pivoting to a double tight-end roster could be profitable. Ideally, I am looking for 3x for every player with an upside to 4x. At $3400 on DraftKings, a game of 4/50/1 from Schutlz would net me close to 4x that might win me a tournament.
