Best NFL DFS Plays Week 10: Justin Herbert, Najee Harris, Tyler Boyd
Best DFS Quarterback Plays Week 10
Justin Herbert, Chargers
If you want to win in fantasy football, you have to have a very short memory. Week 9 against the Jets was a mess for Herbert, who did not even throw for 150 yards and a TD. So why do I like him this week? He gets to play the Lions at home! The Lions are much improved defensively, but they are still somewhat lacking in the secondary and struggle to cover opposing tight ends. Herbert should be able to find Keenan Allen and Gerald Everett regularly and have a much better Week 10.
Geno Smith, Seahawks
I have always been a big proponent of playing a guy who is coming off a terrible week. I can think of no one who fits that better than Geno Smith. Smith was horrendous against Baltimore, looking like a rookie who could barely complete a pass. This week, Smith is home against Washington, who have had serious troubles in the secondary. I am hoping for a back-and-forth game where Smith can find his 2022 form and give us a big outing.
Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers
Mayfield feels like he is going to be the most overlooked quarterback on the main slate. It’s extremely hard to run on Tennessee, and Rachaad White is more of a natural pass catcher than he is a runner anyway. Mayfield is going to be forced to take some chance downfield to both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, who both have terrific matchups. At $5,100 on DraftKings, Mayfield needs a mere 20 points to get to 4x. If he throws for 240 yards and two TDs, he should get there easily.

Best DFS Running Back Plays Week 10
Christian McCaffrey, 49ers
Jacksonville’s run defense has been stingy, but they’ve let up 60 receptions to opposing running backs and have allowed a 85.7% catch rate. I can imagine the checkdowns from Brock Purdy to McCaffrey now and think he’s got a great chance to put up 15 points from receiving yards alone. If he can find the end zone, he will likely be the play of the week.
Rachaad White, Buccaneers
Opportunity equals fantasy points. Fantasy points equals a great shot at taking down DFS tournaments. White has a tough matchup against the Titans' defense, but you cannot overlook the fact that he has the best chance of going 4x of any running back on the slate.
Najee Harris, Steelers
I usually have a rule called “Never Najee,” but I am willing to make a one-week stay of this just to use him against the Packers. Since the Steelers’ bye week, Harris has gotten close to 60% of the touches in the backfield and has looked somewhat impressive. Pittsburgh seems to be committed to their running game, and Harris gets most of the goal-line carries. If you have cold feet about using him, I have no problem using Jaylen Warren, who is $100 more.
Best DFS Wide Receiver Plays Week 10
Mike Evans, Buccaneers
The beauty of Mike Evans is that with his size and speed, coverages really don’t matter as much. He can dominate both man and zone. What I am looking at mostly here is the chance for an explosive play downfield, which is what the Titans give up in droves. Evans is one of my lock-button plays on the slate, as I see him getting 100+ receiving yards and at least one TD.
Tyler Lockett, Seahawks
Every season Lockett seems to have one or two weeks where he goes off and has a 30-point fantasy game. This feels like that week. Washington plays a lot of two-high coverage, which fits Lockett perfectly. Seattle’s horrible performance against Baltimore might also allow Lockett to slide under the radar in terms of ownership, which is a great way to get some leverage on the field too.
Tyler Boyd, Bengals
What I love about playing Boyd is that I see him sliding under the radar. Most people will choose to pay up for Chase or, even more likely, pay down for Trenton Irwin (assuming Tee Higgins is out). I prefer to go with the boring Boyd, who thrives against zone defenses, which is exactly what Houston prefers to play.
Best DFS Tight End Plays Week 10
Sam LaPorta, Lions
There are so many reasons to like LaPorta: Detroit’s defense gives up the third most receptions to tight ends, allows 8.24 YPT to the position, and tight ends catch 79% of the passes thrown to them. Add that to the fact that most of the Lions' receivers struggle in zone coverage, meaning more looks for LaPorta, and this play is a no-brainer.
Dalton Schultz, Texans
Cincinnati has struggled all season long against opposing tight ends, allowing 8.43 YPT, an 81% catch rate, and the fourth-most yards to the position. With Nico Collins not 100% healthy and Robert Woods a likely scratch, there’s a reasonable chance that Schultz leads the Texans in receiving yet again.
Trey McBride, Cardinals
DFS is all about value. To take down a big GPP, you are ideally looking for each of your players to have 4x or 5x their salary. At $3,500, McBride only needs to put up 14 points to go 4x. With Kyler Murray back (and due to the fact that Atlanta plays a lot of zone coverage), McBride should be able to accomplish this and might just be on the roster that wins a million.
