Kumar Rocker hit hard in recent starts as command issues mount

Kumar Rocker has hit a major wall lately, posting a dismal 9.86 ERA and 2.19 WHIP over his last two starts. The third-place Rangers, currently sitting at 35-38 in the AL West, are trying to keep their rotation afloat amidst severe injuries to Cody Bradford and Jordan Montgomery. Rocker remains locked into the number three starter role for now, but his leash is getting shorter.

Beneath the recent blowups, Rocker's overall 2026 marks of a 4.30 ERA and 1.43 WHIP mirror his career baselines. Our models project him to settle around a 4.30 ERA and 1.30 WHIP for the rest of the season, but he must refine his command after yielding 30 walks in 66.9 innings. If he cannot limit the free passes, his ratios will continue to fluctuate wildly.
