Best NFL Plays of the Week: Mike Evans Dominates the Slate

If you want to win in fantasy football you have to have a very short memory. Week 9 against the Jets was a mess for Herbert who did not even throw for 150 yards and a TD. So how can he be a visionary play? He gets to play the Lions at home! The Lions are much improved defensively but they are still somewhat lacking in the secondary and struggle covering opposing tight ends. Herbert should be able to find Keenan Allen and Gerald Everett with regularity and have a much better Week 10.
Running Back
James Cook, Buffalo Bills
Doesn’t it seem like we have been waiting for Cook to break off that one long TD run? After watching Cook play in the preseason, I would have thought that he would have had at least three or four of those types of runs by now. Denver has let up 1,047 rushing yards this season and an egregious 5.57 YPC. Cook is going to bust a long one and I think it happens this week. If there is a prop bet for 50+ yards rushing TDs, I might take that bet too.
Wide Receiver
Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The beauty of Mike Evans is that with his size and speed, coverages really don’t matter as much. He can dominate both man and zone. What I am looking at mostly here is the chance for an explosive play downfield which is what the Titans give up in droves. Evans is one of my lock-button plays of the week as I see him getting 100+ receiving yards and at least 1 TD.
Tight End
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
Denver has been exceptionally generous to opposing tight ends allowing the most receiving yards this season. Moreover, Denver plays a ton of zone coverage which should play perfectly into Kincaid’s skill set as he commands the middle of the field as well as any tight end in the league. In the three games that Dawson Knox has missed, Kincaid has 26 targets. There should be no reason he can’t get another 8-10 targets in this game too.
