Best NFL DFS Plays Week 11: Justin Fields, Tony Pollard, Tank Dell
Dr. Roto shares his favorite NFL DFS plays for Week 11's main slate!
Best DFS Quarterback Plays Week 11
C.J. Stroud, Texans
Arizona plays the fourth most zone coverage and, to be honest, we know that they play it pretty poorly. Moreover, Houston has receivers like Tank Dell and Nico Collins who thrive against zone defenses. Stroud is playing at an extremely high level and is at his best throwing against zone coverage. Houston's offensive line is doing a very good job of protecting him, and Arizona does not blitz that much. Stroud should have a lot of time to sit back in the pocket and pick the Cardinals apart.
Justin Fields, Bears
Detroit is terrific against the run, but they have struggled to stop running QBs. This is Fields’ first game back, so I am slightly hesitant to use him, but that is when his ownership is going to be at its lowest. Put a Fields/Cole Kmet/David Montgomery stack into a single-entry contest and you might be starting out with a very low-owned correlation lineup.
Brock Purdy, 49ers
Last week against Jacksonville we got to see the 49ers at full strength. Brock Purdy played a terrific game and probably could have had another one or two touchdowns at the end of the game if they let him stay in. What makes this matchup great is that Tampa mixes up their defensive coverages and San Francisco has receivers who thrive against all coverages. Deebo Samuel excels against zone coverage if Tampa plays it and Brandon Aiuyk will eat up against man coverage if Tampa chooses to play that instead. Moreover, Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle are good against any type of coverage. The 49ers know they're in a dogfight to win this division, and I don't think there's any way that Purdy doesn't play an exceptional game on Sunday.
Jordan Love, Packers
When I break this game down, I see a Chargers defense that is susceptible to big plays and has given up the most yards passing this season. Green Bay has played very conservatively on offense this season, but that's not going to beat the Chargers. They must take big shots downfield, and Jordan Love has the arm to do that. The best-case scenario is that Love and the Packers are trailing in the second half and pass a lot as a result. I can see a pathway to Love getting 260 yards and three touchdowns.

Best DFS Running Back Plays Week 11
Austin Ekeler, Chargers
Green Bay cannot stop the run. Look at what Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren did last week; don’t you think Ekeler can do the same if not better? The Chargers are desperate for a win, and Ekeler is going to be the leading cog in their offensive machine.
Tony Pollard, Cowboys
Everybody expected Pollard to dominate the New York Giants and instead we saw Dak Prescott throw the ball to CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. I think this week we see Dallas establish their run game. Carolina has allowed 4.63 yards per carry along with 13 rushing touchdowns. Dallas wants to control the clock and the one thing about the Panthers that nobody discusses is that they have a very good pass rush. Knowing this, Pollard will be a mainstay in all of my DFS lineups.
De'Von Achane, Dolphins
There are certain adages that I use to win in fantasy football: One of them is “Never Najee,” the other is “Always Achane”. De'Von Achane is unlike any running back we have seen in a long time; maybe the closest person that I can compare him to is Chris Johnson from the Titans. I think we forget how good Johnson was. He ran a 4.28, and if he saw a little crevice he was able to go through it and run for 60 yards and score. I feel the exact same way about Achane. Las Vegas lets up the third-most rushing yards and 4.55 yards per carry. If he gets a crease, he is scoring, and I am locking him in.
David Montgomery, Lions
You all know that I love a revenge narrative so I am going with Montgomery against the Bears. Detroit loves running in the red zone, and I think it’s Montgomery (and not Jahmyr Gibbs) who is their main back there.
Best DFS Wide Receiver Plays Week 11
Kennan Allen, Chargers
The Packers play a ton of zone coverage, mainly because their star cornerback Jaire Alexander has missed so many games. If Alexander's out once again, Allen will be a fixture in all my lineups as he has been Justin Herbert's main target. I think we're also going to get a little bit of value and less ownership for Allen because of his injury last week which might keep people away from him.
Tank Dell, Texans
Defensive coverages make such a big difference in wide receiver production. Tank Dell thrives against zone defenses as he just finds a way to get into an area where he's unseen because he's small and quick. The Cardinals play a ton of zone, make a lot of mistakes on defense, and give up 9.44 yards per target. Moreover, they've allowed the 10th most receiving yards to opposing receivers. With Noah Brown out and Nico Collins and Robert Woods questionable with injuries, the one guarantee feels like it's Dell. I'm locking him in for at least 90 yards and a touchdown.
Terry McLaurin, Commanders
I'm working with the squeaky wheel narrative here because McLaurin was very underutilized against Seattle. The Giants play a ton of man-to-man coverage, and both of their cornerbacks are questionable with injuries; there's a very good chance they both may miss the game. Sam Howell is going to take a couple of shots downfield, and McLaurin is going to be the biggest beneficiary.
Christian Watson/Jayden Reed, Packers
I definitely want to have one Packer in every lineup because I think this game will feature them playing from behind and needing to throw the football in the second half. I really like Watson, as I think he's their best downfield threat, but there is a chance that he may miss the game with multiple injuries. If he's out then I'm absolutely locking Reed into all of my lineups as a core play.
Best DFS Tight End Plays Week 11
T.J. Hockenson, Vikings
I could have gone a lot of different ways, but I think I fall back to the fact that Joshua Dobbs just has had a great comfort throwing to tight ends thus far. Trey McBride and Zach Ertz thrived when Dobbs was with the Cardinals, and now Hockenson has been incredible with Dobbs in his short stay with Minnesota. Denver has allowed 8.99 yards per target and a 79.7% catch rate to opposing tight ends. As much as I love Justin Jefferson, I still think this may be a Hockenson week, so I'm going to lock him in my DFS lineups.
Dalton Kincaid, Bills
Kincaid has been sensational ever since Dawson Knox went on the IR. I know he's got a tough matchup against the Jets and he is a little more expense than McBride, but the Jets play primarily man-to-man defense and I'm not sure that there's a linebacker or safety out there that can cover Kincaid one-on-one.
Trey McBride, Cardinals
McBride has been just incredible this season, oftentimes looking like the Cardinals' best receiver. Houston struggles against opposing tight ends, and I think this game has a terrific chance of shooting out. McBride’s salary is still very affordable, and he could be the best value on the board.
Noah Fant, Seahawks
The Rams let up TDs galore to opposing tight ends. I worry that Will Dissly might sneak in here, but Fant seems to be the better choice as he plays more snaps.
