Week 14 QB and TE Waiver Adds: Gardner Minshew, Isaiah Likely, Chigoziem Okonkwo, and More!

All the best fantasy football waiver adds at quarterback and tight end for Week 14

Happy Monday! The fantasy playoffs are right around the corner, and you still have a chance to make one last push -- or hopefully expand your lead in the standings. And a big part of making up some ground is making sure you make the right waiver moves.

With running backs and wide receivers coming in a separate article, let's take a look at the quarterbacks and tight ends you should be scooping off the waiver wire for Week 14.

Quarterback

(ownership percentages are based on ESPN leagues)

Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts (10.5 percent)

Minshew has been relatively mediocre for most of the season, but he's put together solid back-to-back fantasy performances and warrants our attention. While he's only thrown for two touchdown passes in his last three games, Minshew is coming off a 312-yard performance against the Titans and gets the Bengals and Falcons as two of his next three games. While I wouldn't feel great about Minshew as my week-to-week fantasy starter, he should be a very solid Week 14 fill-in if you need him to help get you through a bye week.

Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns (2.5 percent)

I can't say I thought I'd be writing about Joe Flacco in 2023, but here we are. With 254 passing yards and two touchdown passes, Flacco put together a QB1 performance in Week 13 and now gets to face Jacksonville, Chicago, and Houston. It's not a guarantee that Flacco will start all three of those games, but that's a relatively fantasy friendly schedule. As long as Flacco is starting in Cleveland, it looks like he'll be a weekly top-20 (ish) fantasy option at quaterback.

Bailey Zapper/Mitch Trubisky/Jameis Winston/Trevor Siemian/Jaren Hall/Nick Mullens

With quite a few quarterback situations in flux, I figured it was worth looking at the pupu platter of crappy options out there. It looks like Zappe will be the starter in New England for now, while Trubisky will take over for the short-term in Pittsburgh. Siemian looks like he'll move into the Jets job, while Winston may have to step in for an injured Carr, and Hall/Mullens seem poised to take over for Joshua Dobbs. If I had to pick, I think I'd go with Jaren Hall as he'd at least have the Justin Jefferson factor going for him (and I think Hall has the inside track over Mullens). All that said, none of these guys are great options. If you have to prioritize any, I'd take a flier on Hall and then Winston.

Tight End

(ownership percentages are based on ESPN leagues)

Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens (23.2 percent)

Likely's ownership percentage went DOWN last week due to the Ravens being on bye, which could potentially be great news. Go check the waiver wire to see if he's available in your league and pick him up if he is. With Mark Andrews out for the season, Likely is set up to be a TE1 for the fantasy playoffs. He won't be Mark Andrews in terms of production, but he's going to see at least 4-5 targets a game and should be able to produce. In his first game filling in for Andrews, he caught four balls for 45 yards on six targets. That's probably the floor for him each week.

Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans (26.6 percent)

It only took 13 weeks, but Okonkwo has finally put himself back on the fantasy map. After doing pretty much nothing for most of the season, he's put together solid back-to-back weeks with 45-plus receiving yards in each game while seeing 11 total targets over those two games. That isn't league-winning stuff, but it's borderline TE1 production. It's also worth noting that Chiggy's average yards per catch jumped into the double-digits for the first time all season in each of this last two games. He's got positive momentum behind him, and it's worth seeing if Okonwko can keep it up.

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers (1.7 percent)

Kraft hasn't done a whole lot yet, but he's done enough to get on the fantasy radar amonst a sea of average at the tight end position. Since Luke Musgrave went on IR, Kraft has seen eight total targets over two games and has put up an average of 2.5 catches for 26 yards and 0.5 touchdowns in those two games. While that's not league-winning stuff, it's worth a look as the rest of the position is completely muddled.
