Best NFL DFS Plays Week 14: Justin Fields, Austin Ekeler, Isaiah Likely
Dr. Roto shares his favorite NFL DFS plays for Week 14's main slate!
Best DFS Quarterback Plays Week 14
Justin Fields, Bears
Detroit struggles with mobile quarterbacks, as they have allowed the most rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season. They also tend to let up a lot of big plays in their secondary which is good for a player like Fields. The only thing that I think could hold Fields back here is the weather, but if he can figure out a way to get about 200 passing yards and a touchdown, along with 50 yards rushing and a TD, I think we could be looking at a 25-to-30-point outing.
Desmond Ridder, Falcons
I normally have a rule never to play bad quarterbacks on bad offensive teams, but Ridder might go against that rule. Tampa Bay has allowed the fourth-most passing yards this season and, as much as we hate Arthur Smith, he has shown a willingness to pass in situations that call for it. What makes Ridder an especially interesting play is that he’s got excellent mobility. He feels like he could have a game similar to Justin Fields without the potential ownership. Ridder plays better at home and if he can get the same 200 yards passing and a touchdown along with another 30 to 40 yards and a rushing touchdown you will be getting about 25 or 30 fantasy points with barely any ownership.
Russell Wilson, Broncos
Something tells me that this game is going to shoot out more than most people expect. The Chargers have a really bad defense, and they tend to play better at home, which should mean that this should be a high-scoring game. You can attack the Chargers on many levels, but I think that Wilson should be able to run for at least one touchdown and maybe throw for two more.

Best DFS Running Back Plays Week 14
Christian McCaffrey, 49ers
We know that the Seahawks are very much a run-funnel defense, and that is something that San Francisco is definitely going to take advantage of. I’m not sure that Brock Purdy is going to have a huge game because I think that Seattle’s secondary has played pretty well recently so I think it’s going to be incumbent upon McCaffrey to dominate his touches both running and receiving, which I think he’ll do. If there’s any running back on the slate who can put up a 30-point week, it’s him.
Austin Ekeler, Chargers
This feels a bit gross since Ekeler looks like he’s been running in mud for the past few weeks, but I have to take the chance on Ekeler, especially at home against a team that gives up yardage to the run. The Chargers' offense has been stuck in second gear for the past two games. If there was ever a time for it to break out, this would be it, and even better is the fact that Ekeler’s ownership should be at an all-time low after his previous disappointments.
Zack Moss, Colts
Cincinnati has allowed 4.54 yards per carry this season. That is an extremely high number and one that we need to take advantage of. Moreover, Moss will get all the snaps that he can handle, and I fully expect him to get about 85 to 90% of the touches in the Colts’ backfield. What I really like about Moss is that he let everybody down in Week 13 with a dud against Tennessee. Cincinnati’s run defense is nowhere near as good as Tennessee’s run defense, and for that reason alone I think Moss may be one of the top players on the slate.
Best DFS Wide Receiver Plays Week 14
Keenan Allen, Chargers
Allen was a major disappointment in Week 13 as the Chargers only scored six points as an entire offense. I think this is going to lead a lot of people to stay away from Allen because he's so expensive. But many years ago, I learned that sometimes fading up is the right way to win. Fading up means deciding to pay more for a player versus going down and trying to save money and get cheaper. Nobody's going to want to pay top value for a player who underperformed the previous week. That's exactly the reason I am going back to Allen.
Courtland Sutton, Broncos
Sutton sees tons of air yards and, even though it hasn’t led to an enormous number of receptions, he’s got incredible touchdown equity. The Chargers’ defense is soft against opposing outside receivers, and I just have a sneaky feeling that this game may go significantly over, so Sutton should be in all lineups.
Drake London, Falcons
I feel confident that Atlanta is going to attack Tampa through the air and throw the ball downfield. Tampa gives up 9.05 yards per target, which could be a potential disaster, and London will be the beneficiary. Moreover, Tampa gives up the third most receiving yards in the league. If there was ever a week for London to be successful, this is it.
Best DFS Tight End Plays Week 14
Travis Kelce, Chiefs
I could tell you something about playing Kelce at home or playing him because Taylor Swift will likely be there. But I think this week you play Kelce because he’s just due for a huge game. The Bills’ pass defense is leaky all over and their best cover linebacker, Matt Milano, is out for the season. Jordan Poyer will do his best to try to cover Kelce, but he can’t match Kelce’s speed or size. This has all the elements of a two-touchdown week for Kelce, and I want to be a part of it.
Isaiah Likely, Ravens
The Rams give up the second-most touchdowns to opposing tight ends, 8.34 yards per target, and a 70% catch rate. Likely is a huge target and a really good one in the red zone. I think Lamar Jackson is going to throw for two touchdowns and Likely will likely catch one.
Cole Kmet, Bears
It seems like Kmet is another version of Cris Carter, where he only catches touchdowns. Justin Fields could move the ball effectively against Detroit, especially with his legs, and get a lot of easy first downs. I think that Kmet will be a weapon in the red zone and I think there's a good chance he will score a touchdown. I like him in double stacks with D.J. Moore too.
