It’s time for another dynasty fantasy football article. The last few days, we’ve been checking out the best dynasty players from each team, and will continue that series now.

We’ve already talked about all the teams in the AFC West, NFC West and AFC North and will now check out the NFC North.

Detroit Lions

The Lions have three of the better dynasty players in the league, so let’s start with their team.

Quarterback Jared Goff isn’t the best dynasty asset, but is still 29, so he’s at least got a few seasons left. He’s set up for success in Detroit, but is more likely to fall down dynasty rankings than go up in the years to come.

Jahmyr Gibbs is one of the team’s top-end dynasty assets. He’s just 22 years old and looks primed to serve as the lead back in his second season in the league. He’s right up there in the upper echelon of dynasty backs, maybe only behind Bijan Robinson and Breece Hall. What I like most about Gibbs is that David Montgomery is still around, which takes away some touches now, but should extend his NFL career, which is obviously what you want in a dynasty league.

Speaking of Montgomery, he’s still a borderline top-20 dynasty back on most lists. He’ll be involved for the next couple seasons at least, so he’s best rostered by contending teams. At 27 years old, he probably will start going downhill soon, so if you aren’t competing, trade him away now for the best return.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is also a top-end dynasty option. He might only be behind Ja'Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson in rankings. At just 24 years old, ARSB should be one of the focal points of the team’s offense for the next several seasons.

Jameson Williams is a top-50 dynasty receiver on most lists. He has a ton of talent, but hasn’t put it all together yet. He’s worth a pick in startup drafts, but make sure you have a plan in place to replace him in case he never hits his stride.

Sam LaPorta is the top dynasty tight end on most lists. He’s just 23, already might be the best fantasy tight end overall, and has plenty of room to grow as a player. LaPorta not only helps you win now, but should be a player you can count on for several more years. He’ll cost an early startup draft pick, but to not have to worry about the tight end spot for several years is a fantastic reward.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay has tons of young talent at its disposal too, starting with QB Jordan Love.

Love caught fire late last season and was rewarded with a massive contract extension. He’s just 25 and is not only a top-10 fantasy option for this season, but in dynasty leagues at the QB position. He could climb higher on dynasty lists if he proves last year wasn’t a fluke.

Josh Jacobs is the top dynasty back in Green Bay. He’s just 26 years old and now gets to play in a good and improving offense. He might not be a good fantasy asset for more than a couple years, but he’s worth rostering regardless of your team status, at least for the coming season.

MarShawn Lloyd could be the team’s RB1 of the future, especially if he can play and show some good things as a rookie. Jacobs’ contract can be made into a one-year deal, so Lloyd is definitely worth spending a pick on before this season.

Jayden Reed appears atop most dynasty lists among Packers’ receivers. Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks are other good dynasty options going into the season.

Reed is a dynamic player who was used as a pass catcher and ball carrier in his rookie season. I’d agree that he’s the best dynasty option among the Green Bay wideouts.

Watson would likely top the list if he could stay on the field consistently. He’s got a nose for the end zone, but injury concerns have him behind Reed right now.

Doubs is only 24 years old and is coming off a strong 2023 season. With no clear WR1 in Green Bay, he’s worth rostering in dynasties - you can start him here and there this season and you maybe have a good long-term option too.

Wicks is WR4 on the depth chart, but showed flashes that he could be a WR1 someday last season. At just 23 years old, he could skyrocket up dynasty rankings if he overtakes Doubs, Watson or Reed.

Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are a couple of decent dynasty options at tight end.

Musgrave is the starter right now, but both guys produced when given the lead role in 2023. Both are also 23 years old. This year’s production should tell the direction in the dynasty rankings that each player goes.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota has a few solid dynasty options as well.

J.J. McCarthy is the best dynasty quarterback option. He’ll miss his first season, but it shouldn’t really affect his long-term outlook. He’ll have a good chance to win the starting job for the 2025 season.

There’s really no good dynasty backs in Minnesota. Aaron Jones is the best option, but is also 29. He should only be rostered by contenders, otherwise trade him while he has a little value.

We already mentioned Jefferson as a top-end dynasty wideout before. He might be the best receiver in the league, but an uncertain QB situation long term keeps him from being the for sure No. 1 dynasty wideout.

Jordan Addison is another top-30 dynasty wideout, although his off-the-field issues this early in his career are definitely a concern to fantasy owners. Now is a time to draft him/or trade for him at a bit lower price. The 22-year-old has a bright future on the field.

T.J. Hockenson is a name to monitor at tight end. He’s coming off a major injury, but is still only 27. He’s got a few years of fantasy production left in him if he can overcome the injury.

Chicago Bears

The Bears also have a number of solid dynasty options, beginning with quarterback Caleb Williams.

The top overall pick in the 2024 draft is already a top-10 dynasty QB to most. There’s risk involved with every rookie, but there’s no denying he’s set up for success right away. He could be a top-five option in dynasty leagues by the time his rookie year wraps up.

D'Andre Swift is the team’s top dynasty back. He’s still just 25, but has bounced around the league the last few years. That doesn’t bode well for his long-term stock, but I expect him to be a starter for at least a couple more seasons. Instead of trading him for a OK return, I’d hold Swift and hope he gains enough value during a season to sell off to a contender.

Roschon Johnson (23) and Khalil Herbert (26) are still young enough to have some value, but the team bringing in Swift this offseason tells you all you need to know about how their NFL team values them. Johnson and Herbert are likely only fantasy assets this season if Swift is injured, and that’d be the only way to keep either guy from falling down dynasty lists any further.

Rome Odunze and D.J. Moore are the top two dynasty receivers for Chicago. Keenan Allen still holds a little value too.

I’ve already seen Odunze above Moore on some dynasty lists. I’m not there yet, plus Moore is only 27, so he’s still got some gas left in the tank. I expect Moore to serve as the top wideout in Chicago for as long as he’s there.

Odunze could change my opinion on that, but because Moore and Allen are on the team right now, I don’t see Odunze really getting a chance to break out for a couple years. Odunze definitely has the most potential of the three and is a top-20 dynasty WR on most lists I see.

Allen is 32, so he’s only got a couple more solid fantasy seasons ahead of him. He’s one to target if your team is a contender, but he’s probably only a starting option here and there this season, not an every-week contributor like we’ve gotten used to with him.

Tight end Cole Kmet seems like the forgotten player in Chicago. He’s not even a fantasy starting option in terms of ADP in standard leagues, and barely ranks inside the top 20 in dynasty rankings despite only being 25 years old. A tight end can be a massive fantasy asset as a checkdown option to a rookie quarterback, so I think Kmet still puts up solid numbers this season. If he doesn’t stick with Chicago, I expect another team to take a chance on him. I view Kmet as a backup fantasy TE option for this season in dynasty leagues, but with upside to start here and there, and for the next few seasons too.
