Fantasy Football Week 6 FantasySP Expert Tips: Caleb Williams, Tucker Kraft, CeeDee Lamb and More
The experts at FantasySP answer a handful of questions in preparation for Week 6.
The further we get into the season, the more absences add up. Bye weeks are an issue, and injuries come fast and furiously as we approach Halloween then the holiday season. To help you prepare for fantasy football, Morgan Rode, Mark Morales-Smith and Daniel Hepner answered five questions in advance of Week 6 of the fantasy football season..
Who is your favorite quarterback streamer this week for the owner missing Patrick Mahomes or Sam Darnold?
Morgan: Daniel Jones isn’t necessarily my favorite, but I do love the matchup. He takes on a Bengals’ defense that’s been shredded by opposing quarterbacks this season. Jones has also played pretty well, so I’m willing to give him the spot start.
Mark: I’m going with Caleb Williams against the Jags. Just about every quarterback has done whatever they want against Jacksonville, and I’m expecting Williams to build off his first big week.
Daniel: Williams is the guy I like most; Jacksonville might have the worst pass defense in the league. For the sake of something different, I’ll throw Will Levis out there for those desperate for a streamer. He’s set to return after the bye week, and Indianapolis is fighting with Jacksonville and a few others for “worst pass defense” status.
How about a running back ready to provide more value this week than he has through the first month-plus?
Morgan: Bijan Robinson. He’s been OK this season but certainly hasn’t lived up to his draft hype yet. He’s got a super favorable matchup against the Panthers, and I think he gets on a hot streak starting now.
Mark: Tyler Allgeier for all the reasons Morgan gave for Bijan. I’m in a league where I have both and may actually end up starting both.
Daniel: Breece Hall has topped out at 62 rushing yards and only reached 100 total yards once through the first five games. The Bills have allowed the most yards per carry of any team, and with a new play caller taking over for the Jets, maybe they will look to get Hall more involved in a below-average offense.
With tight end the hardest position at which to find value, give us a name (or two) who could provide fantasy production both this week and into the future.
Morgan: Tucker Kraft and Brock Bowers. Both have average matchups this week and should remain involved offensively the remainder of the season. Bowers was a promising but unproven talent coming into the season but has shown up in a big way. Kraft has emerged over the past couple weeks but is among the better options at the position already.
Mark: Juwan Johnson. He’s a proven fantasy asset who has had stretches of high-end play. He came into the season injured but is taking his TE1 role back. Look for him to be a potential league-winning type guy from here on out.
Daniel: He’s out this week, so this is more about the future, but when Taysom Hill comes back, he will be an interesting play given the lack of consistent tight end production. You never know when Hill will gain 50 yards on the ground or run in a touchdown (or throw one, for that matter).
Is there a defense that is probably available in the free agent pool and could excel this week?
Morgan: The Eagles. Philly takes on Cleveland, which has really struggled most of the season on offense. Coming off the bye, I think Philly’s defense dominates and posts a big fantasy score.
Mark: These questions are tough for me because all my leagues are IDP, but Houston and Philly would be the ones that I’d target.
Daniel: The Chargers and Broncos game is probably going to be a low-scoring affair, and both sides could take advantage if they’re able to get after the quarterback (especially LA).
And finally, who will be the fantasy MVP of Week 6?
Morgan: I’ll say CeeDee Lamb. He’s got a great matchup against the Lions and still hasn’t had a true monster game this season. I think it’s coming this weekend.
Mark: If he was fully healthy I’d go with James Cook, but I’ll be more cautious and go with A.J. Brown returning from injury to torch the Browns.
Daniel: Jayden Daniels and Lamar Jackson might throw haymakers back and forth, as both Washington and Baltimore have struggled on defense at times. These quarterbacks are explosive players who can score on any given play.
