NFL Power Rankings Week 7: Chiefs, Vikings Still Hold Top Spots After Bye Weeks

The newest power rankings are out and there have been some shakeups, but a lot of teams held firm this week.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars
Last Week: 30

The Jags looked awful again in Week 6 and lost Travis Etienne for a few weeks most likely in the process of losing another game. There looks to be very little hope for this team.

31. New England Patriots
Last Week: 32

The Pats climb one spot from last week because there is a tiny bit of hope for them. Drake Maye flashed some potential and this offense could improve as he gets more experience.

30. Tennessee Titans
Last Week: 31

The Titans wouldn't be so awful if their quarterback weren't suck a disaster, nevertheless, Will Levis has been too much for them to overcome.

29. Las Vegas Raiders
Last Week: 28

The Raiders have officially become sellers after trading away Davante Adams. This team is done and is more likely to drop than climb from here on out.

28. Cleveland Browns
Last Week: 27

Cleveland is another team that has already traded away their best wideout in Amari Cooper and is packing it in. They are awful on both sides of the ball and have a major Deshaun Watson problem, and there is very little they can do about it. That trade and contract may go down as the worst transaction in NFL history when it's all said and done.

27. Carolina Panthers
Last Week: 29

The only thing the Panthers did to climb this week was not be the Raiders or Browns, who have an even worse quarterback and traded their top weapon to compound that issue.

26. New Orleans Saints
Last Week: 20

After a hot start to the season, the Saints are in a complete free fall. Dennis Allen may be the next coach on the chopping block this season.

25. New York Jets
Last Week: 23

The Jets are a bad team who can't block and stop the run. Adams is an upgrade over Mike Williams, but does little to solve their real issues.

24. New York Giants
Last Week: 22

The Giants still aren't good, but they are still better than most people expected them to be. They need Malik Nabers back in a major way though. However, their defense is solid.

23. Los Angeles Rams
Last Week: 25

The Rams are coming off a bye and slowly getting healthy. We are giving this one-win team a bit more leeway than we should perhaps, however, a loss this week against the Raiders and they will plummet.

22. Miami Dolphins
Last Week: 26

Reports are that Tua Tagovailoa will likely be back in Week 8, so they just have to survive one more week without him. There does appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel for Miami.

21. Seattle Seahawks
Last Week: 17

When this team was 3-0 after playing a bunch of terrible quarterbacks, we singled them out as frauds. That's exactly what they are.

20. Los Angeles Chargers
Last Week: 24

This isn't a good team, nevertheless, they aren't terrible. We expect them to hoover around this 20 spot all season.

19. Denver Broncos
Last Week: 21

The Broncos have an elite defense but an offense that is among the worst in the league. This is a team that will always be competitive but struggle to win a lot of games.

18. Indianapolis Colts
Last Week: 18

The Colts were closer to dropping than climbing after barely beating the Titans, but they stay put at 18.

17. Cincinnati Bengals
Last Week: 19

The Bengals won a crucial game against the Giants. Nonetheless, their ranking at No. 17 may still be boosted by reputation.

16. Arizona Cardinals
Last Week: 12

This is such a weird team. From week to week, you never know which version of this team is going to show up. It wasn't the good version on Sunday.

15. Dallas Cowboys
Last Week: 11

The Cowboys looked horrendous in Week 6 while getting destroyed by the Lions. This team will be lucky if they sneak into the playoffs this season.

14. Chicago Bears
Last Week: 16

The Bears offense has looked great the past two weeks but they've played two of the worst defenses in the league. They've shown promise, however, they still have a lot to prove when they play at least an average defense.

13. Philadelphia Eagles
Last Week: 15

The Eagles won and looked much better with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back. Still, they don't look like a very good team. They'll beat bad teams and lose to the good ones.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last Week: 14

The Bucs are another hot and cold team. This week they were on fire and lit up the Saints for 51 points. They could be a tough out in the playoffs if they can just become a bit more consistent.

11. San Francisco 49ers
Last Week: 13

The Niners are doing what they need to do. Surviving through their injuries and hanging around the playoff picture. We fully expect them to be a force come playoff time once again this season.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers
Last Week: 10

The Steelers stay in the top 10 after beating down the hapless Raiders. They also made a QB change this week, so that will be interesting to watch. Russell Wilson is in and Justin Fields is out, at least for now.

9. Washington Commanders
Last Week: 7

The Commanders lost but didn't fall too far. They played well and hung around with an elite Ravens squad.

8. Buffalo Bills
Last Week: 9

The Bills beat the Jets and climbed up one spot. We'd still like to see them knock off a good team. Adding Cooper could be a game-changer for them though.

7. Atlanta Falcons
Last Week: 8

The Falcons are looking better each week. The NFC South race is going to be fun this year with Atlanta and Tampa.

6. Green Bay Packers
Last Week: 6

The Packers looked amazing on Sunday. They only didn't jump up because there was one else who deserved to fall.

5. Detroit Lions
Last Week: 5

The Lions are one of the best teams in the league and a true Super Bowl contender. Losing Aidan Hutchinson was an massive blow though and will be a tough one to overcome.

4. Baltimore Ravens
Last Week: 4

After a rocky start, the Ravens have re-established themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL and one of the biggest threats to the Chiefs in the AFC.

3. Houston Texans
Last Week: 3

The Texans have shown some flaws this season, however, they are still sitting at 5-1 and only appear to be getting stronger as we get deeper into the season. They will need to survive without Nico Collins for a while though if they want to maintain their spot in the rankings.

2. Minnesota Vikings
Last Week: 2

The Vikings had a bye in Week 6, and are very unlikely to drop until they lose a game. They have looked like the best team in the league to this point.

1. Kansas City Chiefs
Last Week: 1

The back-to-back undefeated champs led by the best player in the world will remain in the top spot until they are defeated.
