Noelvi Marte | Fantasy Outlook

Noelvi Marte Recalled to the Majors but Remains a Volatile Fantasy Option

Marte was recalled by Cincinnati on June 3 after TJ Friedl was optioned to Triple-A. The fifth-place Reds, currently sitting at 31-30, are searching for offensive spark plugs, especially with star shortstop Elly De La Cruz on the injured list. Marte has played just one game since his promotion, drawing a walk in his lone plate appearance.

Earlier this year, Marte struggled heavily in the majors, hitting just .138 with zero home runs over 12 games. Our season projection remains hopeful for a bounce-back, modeling a .249 batting average with 7 home runs and 6 stolen bases over 497 at-bats. He has the raw power-speed tools to succeed, but regression to his 2025 form (.260 average, 14 homers) will require consistent playing time.

For the remainder of the week, the Reds face a three-game road series against St. Louis. Marte is scheduled to face righty Kyle Leahy (4.25 ERA) and lefty Matthew Liberatore (4.35 ERA) before a tougher matchup against Michael McGreevy (2.98 ERA). Due to his uncertain role and cold major league track record this year, keep him reserved. Verdict: Sit.
