Overspend for these Week 10 Fantasy Football FAAB Players: Justin Herbert, Jaylen Warren, Quentin Johnston and Hunter Henry
Identifying waiver wire options who you should consider overspending for in week 10.
A couple weeks ago, I started a FAAB series where I identified four players to overspend on. We’re back with another story on week 10 FAAB players to possibly overspend on.
I’m updating my guidelines a bit going forward, even though it doesn’t affect this week. I’ll still have my QB, WR and TE be rostered in 50% of leagues or less, but my RB will now be rostered in 75% of leagues or less.
Also be sure to check out Daniel Hepner’s FAAB story from this week.

Overspend on Justin Herbert
A couple years ago, Herbert was looked to as one of the top fantasy quarterbacks in the game. He fell off that mountain after some injuries and poor play, and then took another negative hit with the Chargers’ new coaching staff, which was more run-focused.
Herbert started this season slow, but has turned things on of late. After passing for multiple scores in just one of the first six games, Herbert has accomplished that feat in two straight games.
The Chargers’ QB has thrown for over 235 yards in four straight games, and has over 275 yards in three straight. Herbert has tossed seven touchdowns and no interceptions over the past six games, and only has one interception on the season - he might not boast crazy high touchdown totals, but at least he’s taking care of the ball and avoiding negative points.
His positive trend is a big reason why I wouldn’t mind spending a bit more of my FAAB on him. Another reason I would is because he’s got a fairly favorable schedule ahead.
I expect Herbert to continue to play well and serve as at least an average fantasy quarterback. If you are in need of a weekly starter, why not give Herbert a try?
Overspend on Jaylen Warren
Warren made my story last week, but with the Steelers on a bye, his own percentage actually went down. So, he makes the cut again.
Warren missed weeks 4 and 5 this season and has had three dud fantasy performances across his other six games played. What makes him appealing to me is that he’s healthier now, and has been trending up over the past couple weeks.
In week 7, Warren had 44 rushing yards on 12 attempts, along with 15 receiving yards on two catches and three targets. In week 8, Warren rushed nine times for 46 yards and added 13 yards on two catches and three targets.
That isn’t crazy fantasy production, but at a position where not a lot of options are available, grabbing a team’s No. 2 back makes a good amount of sense. Warren should remain heavily involved all season, and his production over the past two games is enough to consider him as a flex starter in standard leagues.
I’d absolutely make the move if I already rostered Najee Harris, as that would cover me in case either back went down with an injury. But if you are trying to add some depth at running back or just need another possible starting option, spend a few bucks on Warren.
Overspend on Quentin Johnston
Johnston hasn’t been the big-time star the Chargers were hoping for when they drafted him 21st overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has produced a couple good showings this season, and he’s coming off a big game.
Johnston missed weeks 7 and 8 with an injury, but returned in week 9. He went off for 118 yards and a touchdown on four catches and five targets.
It was just his second time over 50 yards this season, but he did haul in his fourth touchdown reception - a good mark for only playing six games. There’s only one game in which he had under four targets, and while that’s not a super high number, it at least affords him a decent chance to put up fantasy points, especially with his scoring prowess so far.
Johnston made Hepner’s FAAB story this week, and he has the minimum bid totals on his system: a $0 conservative bid, $1 aggressive bid and $2 desperation bid.
I’d be willing to spend a couple more bucks on Johnston, especially if I was desperate for some wideout help. He’s a flex-level fantasy player at the moment, but could become a weekly starter, as the Chargers don’t have a go-to wideout right now.
Overspend on Hunter Henry
Henry has been a streaming fantasy tight end all season, but his production has been better of late, which lines up with Drake Maye taking over as the Patriots’ starting quarterback.
Aside from a 109-yard performance in week 2, Henry finished with 35 yards or less in Jacoby Brissett’s four other starts. Since Maye began making starts, Henry has 234 of his yards and his only touchdown.
Henry has 39 catches and 53 targets for the season, and 23 of the catches and 28 of the targets have come in the past four games. He’s had at least 40 yards and three catches in all of those games, and has been targeted 23 times over the past three weeks.
Like I mentioned in my waiver wire story on tight ends, he’s been one of the more consistent waiver wire tight ends over the past month, and I’d rather spend a few bucks on him than take a big swing on a one-week outlier.
