Top Tacklers
It was another big-tackle day for several players. New York Jets’ Jamien Sherwood led the way with 17 tackles.
It was Sherwood’s fifth game with double-digit tackles this season, and fourth time in the past six weeks that he's posted 10 or more. He hasn’t added many other stats this season, but with 97 total tackles, Sherwood is one of the better IDP options in the league.
Jacksonville’s Devin Lloyd had 16 tackles on Sunday. It was his second time with 10 or more tackles, and now he has 74 tackles for the season. He’s another IDP option who is mostly just going to provide tackles, but he has a solid floor and good upside to start him in a bunch of leagues.
Tennessee’s Jack Gibbens had 15 tackles in week 10. He’s now got 29 tackles over the past two games, and looks like a must-start IDP option moving forward.
Los Angeles’ Chargers’ Daiyan Henley had 14 tackles this week.
It was the third straight week Henley has been in double figures for tackles. He’s got 82 tackles on the season, making him another good weekly starting IDP option.
Chicago’s T.J. Edwards and Washington’s Jeremy Chinn had 13 tackles each.
Edwards got into double figures for tackles for the first time since week 1. He also picked off a pass on Sunday, and still has 73 tackles overall. That makes Edwards a pretty solid weekly option too.
Chinn had 13 tackles for a second-straight week, and has 67 tackles now on the season. He also recovered a fumble and picked off a pass on Sunday. He’s a very good IDP option in the secondary.
New York Giants’ Tyler Nubin, Tampa Bay’s Jordan Whitehead and Indianapolis’ Nick Cross all tallied 12 tackles.
Nubin registered his first double-digit tackle performance in his young NFL career. He’s got 69 tackles this season, which makes him an up-and-coming IDP player, and one who should be owned in more and more leagues with each passing week and solid performance.
Whitehead got into double figures for the first time since week 2, but also has 71 tackles on the season. He’s another good IDP option in the secondary.
Cross continued his monster season and now has 98 total tackles. With a few other splash plays, he’s pretty close to being a must-start IDP. He’s finished in double figures for tackles on five occasions, including the past two weeks.
Dallas’ DeMarvion Overshown, Jacksonville’s Foyesade Oluokun, Chicago’s Kevin Byard III and Giants’ Bobby Okereke all posted 11 tackles.
Overshown tied his season high for tackles and now has 67 overall. He also got his third and fourth sacks of the season on Sunday. With good tackle production and sack upside, Overshown is a good weekly IDP option.
Oluokun got into double figures for the second time this season and picked off a pass on Sunday as well. He has 50 tackles across six games played, making him a pretty solid weekly option.
Byard matched his season high in tackles as well. He has 62 tackles overall, making him another solid IDP secondary player to turn to.
Okereke went over 10 tackles for the second time this season, and now has 34 tackles over the past three games. He’s added a couple other splash plays to his 75 overall tackles, which makes him another very solid IDP option.
Kansas City’s Nazeeh Johnson, Detroit’s Brian Branch, Jets’ Tony Adams and Quincy Williams, Atlanta’s Kaden Elliss and New Orleans’ Demario Davis all had 10 tackles.
Johnson has 24 tackles now on the season, so this looks a bit like an outlier game - he also registered a sack on Sunday. He played over 45% of the defensive snaps for the first time all season. Johnson is a player to keep tabs on, but probably just a better deep-league option at this point.
Branch had double-digit tackles for the first time this season. He also swatted away two passes. Branch has 50 tackles and several splash plays this season, making him a very good IDP option every week.
Adams hit 10 tackles for the third time this season, and has 58 now for the season. His production isn’t super consistent, but he’s worth a starting spot in a good amount of IDP leagues.
Elliss had double-digit tackles for the fourth-straight game, and he’s got 88 now overall. He’s an IDP stud, even with not too many other stats to go along with the tackles.
Williams has 74 tackles overall now after reaching double figures for the second time. He also had a sack and forced fumble on Sunday. With a bunch of tackles and more splash plays thrown in, Williams is a good weekly starting option for IDP owners.
Davis got into double figures for the second time this season and has 66 now for the year. He hasn’t added much else, but is at least worthy of a starting spot in deeper IDP setups.
Other Top Performers
Chargers’ Bud Dupree had five tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble on Sunday. With five sacks and just 17 overall tackles, Dupree is a better deep-league IDP option.
Washington’s Dante Fowler Jr. had five tackles and two sacks. It was his second-straight week with two sacks, and now he has 8.5 on the season. That’s enough production to try starting him going forward, even if that’s until he cools off.
Chargers’ Tuli Tuipulotu had two sacks across his five tackles. He now has 5.5 sacks (his season total) across the past three games. He’ll be added and played in more leagues.
Anfernee Jennings had two sacks across his four tackles on Sunday. He’s up to 48 tackles on the season, and now has 2.5 sacks. The tackle production is solid for an outside linebacker, and the sack upside now gives him some fantasy appeal in deeper IDP leagues.
Pittsburgh’s Cameron Heyward had two sacks in week 10. He had five sacks and 35 tackles on the season now, which is again solid enough production to start him in some deeper IDP leagues.
Deatrich Wise Jr. had two sacks and a pass defensed on Sunday. He has three sacks over the past two weeks and five overall on the season. With only 22 total tackles, he’s a bit of a risky fantasy play, but he offers upside in deep leagues.
Dallas’ Micah Parsons had two sacks and a forced fumble this week. It was his first game in over a month, and he got right back on track. He remains one of the best pass rushers in the game, and worthy of a start in many IDP setups.
Philadelphia’s Zack Baun went for eight tackles and two forced fumbles, while also recovering a fumble. He’s had six or more tackles in every game this season, and with several splash plays, needs to be started in most IDP leagues.
Carlton Davis III had four tackles and two interceptions on Sunday night. He has 47 tackles, the two picks and two fumble recoveries this season, which is enough production to play the cornerback in a good amount of IDP leagues.
Houston’s Kamari Lassiter had a tackle and two picks on Sunday night. He has 29 tackles and three interceptions now on the season. In deep IDP leagues, he offers some fantasy upside.
Buffalo’s Taron Johnson tallied three tackles, a sack, two passes defensed and returned an interception for a touchdown on Sunday. It’s a bit of an outlier game from a fantasy perspective, but in deeper leagues, Johnson offers some fantasy upside.
Injury Roundup
Atlanta’s Mike Hughes left with a neck injury. He has 46 combined tackles this season, and had played in 67% or more of the team’s defensive snaps every game before week 10, so his absence could hurt the Falcons’ defense.
Houston’s Lassiter left with a concussion. His absence would hurt the Texans’ defense, and open the door for another secondary player to step up.
New Orleans’ Pete Werner (hand) and Jordan Howden (shoulder) both got banged up. Werner has 43 tackles across seven weeks and was playing a ton of snaps when healthy, so his loss would be big. Howden has 39 total tackles and had played every defensive snap the previous four weeks, so that’d possibly open the door for another player or two to step up.
Pittsburgh’s Donte Jackson has a hamstring injury. He’s got 26 tackles and three picks on the season, and would be a big loss for the Steelers’ defense.
Tampa Bay’s Zyon McCollum left with a hamstring injury. He’s been playing a ton of snaps and has 48 tackles and two picks this season, so that’d be a blow to the Bucs’ secondary.
