Week 15 Fantasy Football FantasySP Expert Picks: Aaron Rodgers, Adam Thielen, Joe Mixon and More
The experts at FantasySP answer a handful of questions in advance of Week 15 of the NFL season.
It’s fantasy football playoff time (for most), so the toughest decisions of your season are currently in process. That’s a major task, but you’re not alone in that journey.
The experts at FantasySP have once again convened to answer five questions in advance of Week 15. Morgan Rode, Mark Morales-Smith, and Daniel Hepner huddled around the same Google Doc to help you prepare.
Who is your favorite streaming quarterback in Week 15?
Morgan: I can’t believe I’m saying it, but Aaron Rodgers. He’s got a great matchup against the Jaguars and is coming off a good performance, so I wouldn’t mind streaming Rodgers in Week 15.
Mark: The same guy I’ve been picking every week: Give me the upside of Jameis Winston. If I’m streaming a QB at this point of the year, I’m riding this roller coaster until it falls off the tracks.
Daniel: I’ll give you two guys who play against each other: Bryce Young and Cooper Rush. The Cowboys have allowed the second-most yards per pass attempt and fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, while the Panthers are ninth and sixth, respectively. Both guys are streaming options in this one (I very slightly favor Rush).
Give us a flex-level running back poised for a good game.
Morgan: Is Rico Dowdle still a flex-level option to fantasy owners? I think he’s in store for a big fantasy showing against the Panthers in Week 15. He’s coming off back-to-back big games too, so I am pretty confident in him.
Mark: I’ll go Isaiah Davis here. He has a great matchup against the Jags and looks to have the receiving work locked up even if all else fails, which gives him a solid floor. This is, of course, assuming Breece Hall sits again this week.
Daniel: Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. are backing up Brian Robinson Jr. in the Washington backfield against a Saints team that has allowed the most yards per rush attempt and seventh-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Rodriguez had the big game in Week 13 (before a Week 14 bye), and McNichols shined earlier in the season. Both could fill a flex spot if you’re desperate (with Rodriguez's more recent success a possible tiebreaker).
How about a receiver who will outplay expectations?
Morgan: I’ll say Zay Flowers. He hasn’t scored over 12 fantasy points in any of the past four contests, but I think he has a monster showing against the Giants in Week 15.
Mark: Adam Thielen isn’t a sexy pick, but he just continues to catch passes and produce when paired with Young.
Daniel: The Vikings have given up the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Minnesota is likely to beat the Bears, and Caleb Williams might be throwing to keep up. One of Chicago’s receivers will probably have a good game; Rome Odunze had two touchdowns last week.
Do you have a tight end you are avoiding this week?
Morgan: I’ll stick with the Ravens and say Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely have slow days. The Giants’ defense does a great job of slowing opposing tight ends, and I see them shutting Andrews and Likely down this week. Baltimore will be powered by Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson and Flowers instead.
Mark: I don’t know about avoiding, but I’d definitely temper expectations for Brock Bowers if Desmond RIdder gets the start, as well as looking elsewhere in DFS.
Daniel: The Philadelphia Eagles have given up the least yards per pass attempt and seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends, totally shutting down the position. Pat Freiermuth and the Steelers visit Philly this weekend: don’t expect much out of the Pittsburgh tight end.
And finally, who will be the fantasy MVP of Week 15?
Morgan: I’ll go out on a limb and say Joe Mixon. Miami is great at slowing opposing pass games but is a bit below average against the run game. I think that sets Mixon up for a monster fantasy showing.
Mark: With Jonathon Brooks now likely done until 2026, Chuba Hubbard can safely be plugged in after a scare in Week 13 that cost a lot of fantasy managers who benched him in Week 14. He will come out and have a monster game against the Cowboys this week, finishing as a top-five RB.
Daniel: The Bills have allowed the seventh-most yards per rush attempt and third-most fantasy points per game to running backs. They match up with the Detroit Lions this week, probably the strongest running back team given the presence of two 1,000-yard guys. David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, or both could have strong days.
