Divisional Round Fantasy Football Injury Report: Zay Flowers, Robert Woods, Ray Davis & More
Ted breaks down which fantasy football players we can expect to be active for the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.
We have reached arguably the greatest weekend of NFL football of the year: the Divisional Round. Of course, this deep into the season, every single team is dealing with at least an injury or 10. Let’s break down the top fantasy football-relevant injuries for this weekend, using information available as of Saturday morning. Thankfully, there aren’t as many as you might expect, with some teams being entirely injury-free (or at least not having any new injuries to report).

Divisional Round Texans Injury Report
Is Joe Mixon Playing Today?
After handling a heavy workload in the Texans’ Wild Card win over the Chargers, Mixon popped up on the injury report this week with an ankle injury. He got in a limited practice on Wednesday but then trended in the wrong direction by not practicing at all on Thursday. However, it has been reported that the Texans’ RB1 will be in action today. Given the stakes, I expect him to see his usual workload, barring a setback.
Is Robert Woods Playing Today?
One of the Texans’ other veteran pieces on offense, Woods’ situation is not as clear as Mixon’s. He did not practice all week with a hip injury and was listed as questionable on the Texans’ final injury report of the week. Thankfully, Houston plays in the first game of the weekend, so we will get the final word on Woods’ status in time to make fantasy adjustments. If he does play, Woods is still a desperation option, as he posted just a 29% route participation rate in the Wild Card Round. If he’s out, it’s a small bump to John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson.
Is Cade Stover Playing Today?
The rookie out of Ohio State had been serving as the Texans’ TE2 behind Dalton Schultz, but his season is officially over. Houston placed him on IR after he broke his collarbone in last week’s game. The biggest fantasy impact of this is a slight boost to Schultz, who may see one or two extra targets as a result.
Divisional Round Chiefs Injury Report
While they are certainly not injury-free (remember Rashee Rice?), the Chiefs don’t have any developing injury situations to report. The only player, fantasy-relevant or otherwise, who was anything less than a full participant in practice for Kansas City this week was Mecole Hardman, who had been phased out of the Chiefs’ offense even before suffering a knee injury. For what it’s worth, Hardman has been ruled out.
Divisional Round Commanders Injury Report
Is Zach Ertz Playing Today?
Ertz’s practice log reads almost like a how-to of returning from injury. After missing Tuesday’s practice entirely with a rib injury, he progressed to a limited session on Wednesday and then full participation on Thursday. He has no injury designation for today’s game and should be good to serve his usual role as an underneath target for Jayden Daniels.
Divisional Round Lions Injury Report
Is David Montgomery Playing Today?
When Montgomery first injured his MCL in the Lions’ Week 15 loss, it looked as though his season was over. But looking at his practice log this week, you wouldn’t even know he was ever injured. The veteran back practiced in full all three days and is listed without an injury designation for today’s game. The only possible conclusion given that information is that he will be a full-go to play his usual role, especially considering that we are in the playoffs. There is some added risk that he will suffer a re-injury or be pulled early if the game gets out of hand, but otherwise he can be viewed as his usual high-end RB2 self. For what it’s worth, Montgomery’s return is only a slight downgrade for Jahmyr Gibbs, who should still see plenty of work.
Divisional Round Rams Injury Report
Is Tyler Higbee Playing On Sunday?
After dominating the first quarter with a team-high five targets, Higbee exited the Rams’ Wild Card game early with a chest injury. In fact, he was eventually transported to the hospital after coughing up blood. However, he is reportedly good to go for this week’s game after upgrading to a full practice on Friday. He has no injury designation and should serve as the Rams’ primary receiving tight end, making him a viable under-the-radar TE for this week.
Divisional Round Eagles Injury Report
Is Dallas Goedert Playing On Sunday?
Goedert was the only Eagle to miss practice on Thursday, as he sat out with an illness designation. However, he returned to a limited practice on Friday and has no injury designation. Just like his opposite number Higbee, he should be good to go as the Eagles’ lead TE on Sunday.
Is A.J. Brown Playing On Sunday?
The Eagles’ WR1 was limited for Wednesday’s practice with a knee/rest designation, but he quickly returned to full practices on both Thursday and Friday. He is off the injury report and should be a full go against the Rams.
Divisional Round Ravens Injury Report
Is Zay Flowers Playing On Sunday?
At this point, it seems unlikely that we will see Zay Flowers at all this postseason, unless perhaps the Ravens make the Super Bowl. The standout sophomore WR has yet to get in even a limited practice since injuring his knee in their Week 18 game. He is technically listed as doubtful, not out, for this weekend, but doubtful has become a de facto out tag in recent seasons. Expect him to miss this massive matchup this week, leaving Rashod Bateman as the Ravens’ WR1 and Tylan Wallace as their WR2 … although TE Isaiah Likely might actually be the player who sees the biggest bump in volume.
Divisional Round Bills Injury Report
Is Ray Davis Playing On Sunday?
The Bills’ rookie running back suffered a concussion in their Wild Card win over the Bills. He was a limited participant in all three of their practices this week and is officially listed as questionable. However, it seems most likely that he will miss this week. Clearing the concussion protocol has mostly been at least a two-week affair for players this season and usually requires getting in at least one full practice. Expect Ty Johnson and James Cook to dominate the Bills’ backfield, with Cook seeing around 60% of the work, with Davis sidelined.
