Hitters
Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Houston's Yordan Alvarez each lead the way with 20 projected fantasy points.
New York Mets' Juan Soto is at 19 points, while teammate Francisco Lindor and Arizona's Corbin Carroll are both projected for 18 points.
Chicago Cubs' Kyle Tucker, Arizona's Ketel Marte and Texas' Corey Seager all appear at 17 projected fantasy points.
The first fantasy player with a lot of projected points who isn't already rostered in most leagues is Seattle's Victor Robles. He's set for 16 points and should be hitting atop the Mariners' lineup in 2025.
Chicago Cubs' Dansby Swanson is another player projected for 16 points. He's owned in 87% of leagues right now.
Miami's Xavier Edwards is rostered in 84% of leagues so far and is set for 15 fantasy points. Baltimore's Cedric Mullins (66%) is also projected for 15 points. Arizona's Eugenio Suarez (86%) is another player projected for 15 fantasy points.
Arizona's Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is owned in 78% of leagues and is projected for 14 points. Houston's Jeremy Pena is also projected for 14 points, while being rostered in 89% of leagues.
The projections have Toronto's Ernie Clement set for 13 points - he's owned in about 6% of leagues. Arizona's Jake McCarthy is owned in 48% of leagues and set for 13 points.
Texas' Joc Pederson is owned in about 29% of leagues and also set for 13 points. Boston's David Hamilton is set for 13 points and is rostered in just 11% of leagues.
Chicago Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong is rostered in 86% of leagues and is projected for 13 points. Toronto's Alejandro Kirk is another player set for 13 points - he's owned in 21% of leagues.
Baltimore's Tyler O'Neill (74%), Toronto's George Springer (69%), Arizona's Gabriel Moreno (62%) and Seattle's Luke Raley (11%) are also projected for 13 fantasy points in the first “week” of the season.
Targeting hitters with four games this week is a wise move, as they obviously have better chances to score fantasy points than a player appearing in three games.
Another thing to be mindful of in late March games is weather, as postponements are a lot more likely. It might take a player with three games down to two, or in four games down to three, so keep a close eye on the status of games from Thursday through Sunday.
Pitchers
Philadelphia's Zack Wheeler is the top-projected starting pitcher for the first few days of the regular season. He's at 20 points for his start against Washington.
Pittsburgh's Paul Skenes, Houston's Framber Valdez, Chicago Cubs' Shota Imanaga, Cincinnati's Hunter Greene and Seattle's Bryce Miller are all projected for 17 points.
The first big waiver wire option available who is projected for a good amount of points is Chicago White Sox' Sean Burke - he's rostered in 9% of leagues. He'll make a start against the LA Angels and is set for 15 fantasy points.
LA Dodgers' Dustin May is projected for 14 points this week - he's owned in 45% of leagues. Chicago Cubs' Jameson Taillon (23%) is also at 14 projected points for his start against Arizona.
Kansas City's Michael Wacha (51%) and Athletics' Luis Severino (42%) are both projected for 13 fantasy points. Wacha will face Cleveland, while Severino takes on Seattle.
LA Angels' Jose Soriano (15%) is projected for 12 points in his start against the White Sox.
Cincinnati's Nick Martinez (51%), Milwaukee's Aaron Civale (8%) and Nestor Cortes (54%), Washington's MacKenzie Gore (80%), St. Louis' Andre Pallante (4%), Tampa Bay's Ryan Pepiot (79%), Athletics' JP Sears (9%) and Arizona's Merrill Kelly (49%) are all projected for 11 fantasy points.
Martinez faces San Francisco, while Milwaukee's starters take on the New York Yankees. Gore will face the Phillies.
Pallante will make a start against the Twins, while Pepiot faces the Rockies. Sears will start against the Mariners, while Kelly will face the Cubs.
