When running back Nick Chubb didn’t get up, holding his knee, everyone on the sideline of the Cleveland Browns collectively held their breath. Chubb is one of if not the best running backs in the NFL and is a consistent force for the Browns’ offense. He has already been ruled out of this game.
As the team struggles to figure it out offensively they will now be without their best weapon maybe for the rest of the season. At first, ESPN would not show the replay as they said it was too gruesome to show though they would later show a sped-up version

Game News
There are dueling reports about the status of wide receiver Amari Cooper as the Cleveland Browns get set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight on Monday Night Football. Cooper, who tweaked his groin during Saturday’s practice, traveled with the team and is questionable for the game.
First, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Cooper was unlikely to play immediately after the report came out that he had dinged up his groin. However, as we get closer to game time, it appears that things are trending in the right direction for Cooper and the Browns
The Cleveland Browns gained some attention after shutting down the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense during a 24-3 opening-week victory at home. It wasn’t just locally as NFL Network’s Michael Irvin chose the Browns as the team he is all aboard the hype train for during this week’s NFL Gameday Morning Show.
He talked briefly about the defense but also about the running game of Nick Chubb paired with the impact Deshaun Watson can have as a runner as well. The team had to lean on old school smash mouth football last week and showed they can adapt and win bad weather games, a must playing on the lake
Cleveland Browns safety Grant Delpit was all over the field against the Cincinnati Bengals in the opening game in Cleveland. He made an impact in both run defense and covering from the slot, the box, and as a deep safety. He has continued his hot start with a big interception of Kenny Pickett on the first drive of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It looks like the former LSU Tiger is ready to build off the best game of his career as he reads Pickett perfectly to jump the pass on third down. If the Browns continue to get this version of Delpit this defense can do something special under Jim Schwartz
If the night couldn’t get any worse for the Cleveland Browns Za’Darius Smith went down during the third quarter. This comes after running back Nick Chubb was carted off with a serious knee injury. He was later seen on the sideline wearing his helmet as he returned to the game for the Browns. The Browns lost Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury earlier in the evening.
Smith was the marquee addition this off-season. He was Myles Garrett’s partner in crime against the Bengals, giving their offensive lineman fits last week. The Browns cannot lose more starters on their team. The NFL is a game of attrition and the Browns are starting to lose quickly. Hopefully, Za’Darius can recover from his injury quickly
The Cleveland Browns get some great news as they get set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Just 90 minutes away from this AFC North showdown on Monday Night Football, wide receiver will be active and play in this one after tweaking his groin late in the week. Safety Juan Thornhill will also make his Cleveland debut after missing the first week of the season with a calf injury.
This is a huge boost for a team looking to get off to not only a 2-0 start for the first time in 30 years, but to a 2-0 start in the AFC North as well. With a win, the Browns would sit atop the AFC North, taking the tiebreaker over the Baltimore Ravens (who they will play in Week 4) with more divisional wins
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Gunner Olszewski took a huge shot on a fumble late in the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns on Monday night. It is now being reported that Olszewski is doubtful to return as he is being evaluated for what the team is calling a head injury.
Olszewski was seeing a more significant role on offense this week with Diontae Johnson out. Johnson was placed on IR on Monday meaning he will miss at least four games.
#Steelers WR Gunner Olszewski is in the locker room being evaluated for a head injury. His return to today's game is doubtful
The Pittsburgh Steelers offense struggled for almost all of the first half but late in the second quarter, quarterback Kenny Pickett found wide receiver George Pickens in the middle of the field and Pickens did the rest on the way to a 71-yard touchdown catch and run and social media loved to see it
Will miss the next four games
The #Steelers placed WR Diontae Johnson on IR. He's out at least four games. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FF Today's Take: This seemed like the logical outcome as Johnson's injury seemed severe enough that he wasn't going to play anytime soon. The Steelers will head into their Monday night clash with the Browns with George Pickens, Allen Robinson and Calvin Austin as their top three wideouts.
We might have seen the fastest touchdown in Steelers history on Monday night. On the first play of the game, Steelers EDGE Alex Highsmith took a deflected pass, hauled it in and took it in for the touchdown to give Pittsburgh the early 7-0 lead over the Cleveland Browns. Social media wasted no time in going nuts over the impressive play
Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick briefly saved a touchdown, chasing down and diving at the heels of Browns running back Jerome Ford just before the goal line.
Two offensive playmakers were placed on injured reserve, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Monday. Wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hamstring) and running back Anthony McFarland, Jr. (knee) won’t be eligible to return until after the team’s Week 6 bye.
After three catches for 43 yards, Johnson exited in the third quarter of Pittsburgh’s Week 1 game versus the San Fransisco 49ers. McFarland, who had been returning kicks, popped up on the team’s injury report during this week’s practice.
Running back Qadree Ollison, signed by the Steelers on September 2, was elevated to the active/inactive roster. Ollison was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2019 and had layovers with the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars, but he’s best known in the Pittsburgh area from his time with the Pitt Panthers. In his final collegiate season, he rushed for 1,213 yards (6.3 yards per carry)
