A quarter after Jayden Reed scored his first career NFL touchdown, Green Bay Packers rookie receiver Dontayvion Wicks joined him as a first-time end-zone finder.
Wicks caught a pass from Jordan Love off an in-breaking route, made a defender miss in the open field and scored from 32 yards out for his first career NFL touchdownon Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The score gave the Packers a 17-9 lead over the Falcons in the third quarter.
The Packers made Wicks a fifth-round pick out of Virginia in the 2023 draft

Key Packers expected to sit Week 2
The Green Bay Packers will likely be without two of their top offensive players when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.Running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson, both listed as questionable for the game, are expected to be sidelined with hamstring injuries, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. FF Today's Take: Watson was the only one of the duo to get in a limited session on Friday. Green Bay will be short-handed in their matchup against the Falcons. Expect AJ Dillon to handle the bulk of the running back work. He's a viable RB2 based on volume. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed should be the top two targets at wide receiver for Jordan Love but both are nothing more than Flex options.
The Green Bay Packers will be without David Bakhtiari on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. The Packers starting left tackle is officially inactive after being listed as questionable on the final injury report.
It’s unclear if Bakhtiari is dealing with a flare-up in his surgically repaired knee or if the playing surface at Mercedes Benz Stadium — artificial turf — played a factor in his availability.
Bakhtiari didn’t have a playing status designation in Week 1 and played without restriction on the grass field at Soldier Field
The Green Bay Packers will be without starting left guard Elgton Jenkins for the rest of the way on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Jenkins, who injured his knee in the first half, has been ruled out by the Packers coming out of halftime.
Royce Newman replaced Jenkins at left guard.
Jenkins appeared to suffer his knee injury on a third-down run by A.J. Dillon, who slammed into the side of Jenkins’ leg while going to the ground. Jenkins finished the drive but wasn’t on the field for the Packers’ next possession

After a review put the Packers at first and goal, rookie Jayden Reed was able to give his team the lead by taking an end-around nine yards for a touchdown. Green Bay now leads Atlanta, 7-3, early in the second quarter.

The Atlanta Falcons came up with a big defensive stop on the Green Bay Packers’ opening drive. However, Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder quickly gave the ball back to the Packers when he threw his first career interception in the first quarter.

The first career touchdown for Green Bay Packers rookie receiver Jayden Reed arrived Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Reed, moving from left to right pre-snap, caught a pop pass from quarterback Jordan Love and raced into the end zone behind blocks from Zach Tom, Luke Musgrave, Samori Toure and Patrick Taylor. The 9-yard touchdown gave the Packers a 7-3 lead over the Falcons in the second quarter of Week 2.
The Packers made Reed a second-round pick out of Michigan State in the 2023 draft. The 50th overall pick caught two passes for 48 yards, rushed once for -2 yards and returned three punts for 54 yards (long 35) during his NFL debut in Chicago last Sunday
The Atlanta Falcons managed to stay undefeated despite trailing by two touchdowns going into the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers.
Bijan Robinson went for a career-high 124 rushing yards, with 172 all-purpose yards in Sunday’s win. Desmond Ridder and Drake London bounced back and the defense made some huge stops down the stretch.

Then on fourth down in the red zone, Ridder kept the option from Robinson and vaulted into the end zone to inch the Falcons back into this contest. Green Bay currently leads 24-22 in the fourth quarter
Following the Atlanta Falcons’ Week 2 win over the Green Bay Packers, head coach Arthur Smith made a point to compliment the crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium before he began his press conference.
“It means a lot for us to win at home and I thought our crowd has been unbelievable the last two games,” said Smith. “It really made a difference — our guys fed off that energy. It’s a shared experience when you get into it like that and you could feel them, especially on that last drive.”
