The Cincinnati Bengals almost pulled off the upset in Kansas City, losing 26-25 on a last-second field goal.
Given the upset at the hands of New England in Week 1 and just how terrible everything seemed there, it was a good sign just to see the team look competent against a contender, regardless of the result.
Here are some quick takeaways from the game.
All the offseason chatter about more under-center looks seemed to imply a heavy does of tight ends in 2024. That finally happened on Sunday, with Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample involved through the game. Most surprising was Erick All Jr., the rookie who had fallen during the draft after a rash of college injuries. He appeared to have the best rapport with Burrow and it’s easy to envision him taking over TE1 in the near future. Tight ends combined for x catches on the day

The Kansas City Chiefs narrowly earned their second win of the 2024 regular season on Sunday by defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 26-25 after a walk-off field goal by kicker Harrison Butker.
Before the game-winning boot by Butker, Kansas City’s offense was largely led by running back Isiah Pacheco, who rumbled for 90 yards on 19 carries against Cincinnati’s stout defense.
In the second half, Pacheco exited the field and seemed to be in pain on the sideline.
According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told the media that the former Rutgers star was being evaluated for an ankle injury

The Kansas City Chiefs earned their second victory of the 2024 regular season on Sunday after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 26-25 in Week 2 action.
Emotions were high heading into the much-anticipated matchup, and with potential postseason implications riding on the outcome, both teams needed to be at their best.
Turnovers kept the game close, but a penalty committed by Bengals’ rookie Daijahn Anthony with 48 seconds left in the fourth quarter ultimately sealed Cincinnati’s fate.
The infraction was committed against receiver Rashee Rice, who was open downfield on a crucial fourth down. When Mahomes threw the ball Rice’s way, Anthony came in to cover the former SMU product and hit him just a second early
