Vikings have blitzed C.J. Stroud on 12 of his 21 dropbacks (57%). It's working. He's 5-for-11 with 49 yards and an interception on those plays.
Vikings QB Sam Darnold down on the field. Got rolled up on by Danielle Hunter. Trainers with him. Nick Mullens warming up.
Justin Jefferson said he jammed a finger on the catch he made over Derek Stingley Jr. in the first half. X-Rays were negative, he said. (You might have seen Jefferson flexing his right hand on TV at halftime.)
Hats off to RG Shaq Mason and LG Kenyon Green, the only linemen who haven't been called for penalties. This is the worst game I've seen Tunsil have. The linemen act like they have never played in a loud stadium.
A big sack by Jonathan Greenard against his old team (TE Cade Stover had no chance) slows a long Texans drive. 54-yard FG no good and Vikings will take over at their 44. Vikings 7, Texans 0. 4:31 Q1.
CJ Stroud and the Texans arriving -- right thru my #FFNOW live hit w/ my buddy @FieldYates ? #HOUvsMIN https://t.co/C1r6CxWjPA ByKimberleyA: @ByKimberleyA Can you ask him how many targets for Tank Dell today?? ???
Texans RB Cam Akers set to start with Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce ruled out vs. Minnesota, per @TomPelissero nfl.com/news/injury-ro... pic.x.com/dkc6o4731p
RT: There's still A LOT of love for Stefon Diggs and Kris Boyd from Vikings fans. ??? pic.x.com/qaaga7sbyw
Stefon Diggs returns to Minnesota for the first time since he was traded by the Vikings after the 2019 season ? ? @HoustonTexans pic.x.com/w3gmg7exkq
The Houston Texans are one victory away from securing their best start since 2012, but it comes with a test against an undefeated Minnesota Vikings squad at U.S. Bank Stadium.
It’s a new era of Texans football. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has played up to par despite the offense struggling at times in Week 2’s victory against Chicago. Largely, it’s been predicated on the consistent play of Nico Collins, who leads the league with 252 receiving yards through two games.
Defensively, Sunday’s matchup features two of the best front sevens. Minnesota leads the league in sacks while Houston ranks second. Last week, both teams recorded a pair of interceptions en route to victories at home.
Running backs Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce were ruled out before the Houston Texans traveled to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Vikings.
John Metchie III, however, wasn’t. For the third straight week, he won’t suit up as a piece of the passing game.
Metchie was one of seven players ruled inactive before kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium. Rookie linebacker Jamal Hill, defensive back Myles Bryant and defensive end Rashad Weaver also won’t take the field.

#Vikings QB Sam Darnold in a win over the #Texans. - 17/28 - 181 passing yards - 4 TDs - 0 INTs - 119.2 passer rating Dare I say... Early MVP favorite? pic.x.com/cm69wlbwor
"This is probably some of the most fun I've had in my career." My @nflnetwork 1-on-1 with #Vikings RB Aaron Jones, who had a big game in today's rout of the #Texans -- and now faces his old team next week at Lambeau Field. pic.x.com/dvvkp3boxd
Justin Jefferson 3 games.
Justin Jefferson 3 TDs
Justin Jefferson 3 griddy's.
@MySportsUpdate: These #Vikings throwback jerseys are so clean. https://t.co/x1WvjtoE7h
And now Sam Darnold has returned to the game.
@AdamSchefter: Nick Mullens has replaced the injured Sam Darnold. https://t.co/BOGX703Qep
I'll also say: Jalen Nailor has looked freaking great. Cannot overstate how important he's been from separation standpoint w/ out Addison and Hockenson.
@alec_lewis: Sam Darnold got to the third read in the red zone there on the Jalen Nailor TD. This is something. It's 21-0.
Will Reichard just hit from 58. You shouldn't be surprised.
Jihad Ward with the one of the wildest get-offs I've ever seen.
Jonathan Greenard just sacked CJ Stroud for his third sack of the day.
Sam Darnold ties his career high with a 4th TD pass -- this to Johnny Mundt for 2 yards on third down -- and the Vikings would have to work very hard to lose this game. Vikings 31, Texans 7. 10:14 Q4.
Omg. Harrison Smith almost had tip pick. He's so mad at himself. You can see it.
First half ends with Andrew Van Ginkel's sack of C.J. Stroud. Vikings took advantage of early field position to take the lead and it has been a defensive battle since then. Vikings 14, Texans 0. HALFTIME.
DeAndre Carter, Khalil Herbert and Tyler Scott are returning kicks right now. Rome Odunze, Tyrique Stevenson, DJ Moore and Josh Blackwell are returning punts.
Kamu Grugier-Hill was the second LB on the field in the Vikings' nickel 4-2-5 look in pregame warmups.
Maybe only a couple more weeks for T.J. Hockenson. pic.x.com/tvyxnvs63u
Brian O'Neill is walking off under his own power and headed to medical tent.
@alec_lewis: Vikings RT Brian O'Neill is down. Trainers are out to look at him.
Omg. Vikings intercept CJ Stroud on play No. 2. Jonathan Bullard tip, Kamu Grugier-Hill pick. Holy.
The Vikings' inactives... Jordan Addison Dallas Turner Ivan Pace Jr. Dwight McGlothern Levi Drake Rodriguez Walter Rouse Brett Rypien Jalen Redmond & Fabian Moreau are active.
RT: MIN is down their WR2 in Jordan Addison, so it's a perfect opportunity to - Let Stingley follow Jjetas - Double Jjetas with Lassiter and a Safety over top Instead, Houston is playing soft off zone coverage with no disguise and MIN is feasting bc of it
