Commanders RB Brian Robinson is inactive today. Commanders expected he would be able to play but the pre-game warmup did not go well.
@BrianR_4: I'll be back stronger ??

Game News

With #Commanders WR Terry McLaurin after win No. 7 for Washington: "I just thank God that I'm in this position, to be able to have the patience and endurance to see the other side of everything. ... It's nothing short of a blessing. I don't take these days for granted." pic.x.com/p85oEawGHN
Time to start the Pro Bowl recognition for Dante Fowler in DC. The 10-year vet is enjoying a career year with 6.5 sacks and a pick-six for Dan Quinn's defense. The 7-2 #Commanders are in first place -- with great play on BOTH sides of the ball. pic.x.com/6vFQG6z9JD
The #Commanders won't have their starting RB.
@MikeGarafolo: #Commanders RB Brian Robinson (hamstring) is indeed going to be inactive today against the #Giants, sources tell me and @RapSheet. There was hope he'd play but his hammy didn't feel right in his pregame workout. Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez will play. https://t.co/kSpIsSjHkd
The Commanders are definitely not having any fun at all. ? (via Frankie Luvu on IG) pic.x.com/qZCuPvJums
It looked like Percy Butler bit on the long run by Jones earlier and bit again on his TD pass.
RT: A guy who doesn't get nearly enough credit for the Washington Commanders resurgence is Noah Brown. Consistent +1 blocker in the Run Game & reliable receiver in the Pass Game. It's guys like him who make your offense go! https://t.co/LMuuseuwju

Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. is inactive today. Commanders expected he would be able to play but the pre-game warmup did not go well. (Adam Schefter on X)
FF Today's Take: Over the weekend, it seemed like Robinson was on track to play but his pre-game workout didn't satisfy the coaches and trainers. With Robinson out, the Commanders will lean on Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols to handle the running back work. Ekeler is a viable RB2 option, especially in PPR leagues while McNichols is a low-end Flex option.
The Washington Commanders (6-2) lead the New York Giants (2-6) 21-7 at halftime of their Week 9 matchup from MetLife Stadium.
New York went on offense first, but the Commanders quickly forced a three-and-out. The Commanders returned the favor, as Tress Way had his first punt against the Giants this season.
From there, the Giants leaned on the running game, and Washington had no answer. Fortunately for the Commanders, edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. sacked quarterback Daniel Jones, forcing a fumble that linebacker Bobby Wagner hustled down the field to recover
The Washington Commanders (6-2) travel to MetLife Stadium Sunday for a Week 9 matchup against the New York Giants (2-6). It’s a rematch from Week 2 when the Commanders defeated the Giants 21-18, behind seven Austin Seibert field goals.
That was the Commanders’ first win of the season, and they have only lost once since. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is completing almost 72% of his passes, and Washington’s defense is improving weekly.
The Giants are struggling. They have lost three in a row and are 2-6 in what feels like another lost season

Mike Williams? Za'Darius Smith? Azeez Ojulari? Who could be traded before Tuesday at 4 pm?
???
@RapSheet: All eyes on the WRs and edge rushers as the trade deadline looms.
My story on what awaits on Tuesday at 4 pm: https://t.co/lrrR2qetvV

Malik Nabers' first catch of the game came with 13:16 left in the 3rd quarter.

The #Giants screamed from the rafters that the main thing that derailed their 2023 season was the injury to Andrew Thomas. How do you go into this year with no contingency plan for the same happening again? It was obvious that wasn't Josh Ezeudu during camp. The Giants either didn't see that (misevaluation) or refused to get off that because Ezeudu is a draft pick. Bad either way. Now they're relying on Chris Hubbard, who they signed off another team's practice quad .. just like a year ago. Same disaster results.
Daniel Jones' 2-yard TD pass to Chris Manhertz is the quarterback's first TD pass at MetLife Stadium in 672 days. ? Target Separation: 0.6 yards ? Completion Probability: 33.9% #WASvsNYG | #Giants100 pic.x.com/Vafs6Xn4ui
Brian Burns seems very down -- more so than other weeks. He was with Dexter Lawrence 30, 40 minutes after the game, seated at Dexter's locker, discussing what needs to change. Wouldn't go into detail with media. Felt #Giants grew in some ways, not in others. pic.x.com/dRd06CUNL1
Theo Johnson touchdown. Deep down the seam. Still 2:48 left. #Giants need to go for two again because of math.
Dexter Lawrence said they needed to be better situationally. "Defense got beat up today." #Giants
The New York Giants have placed kicker Greg Joseph on injured reserve (IR) with an abdomen issue after he popped up on Friday’s injury report.
Joseph is the second Giants kicker to land on IR this season, joining Graham Gano, who ironically suffered a hamstring injury during a Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders — Big Blue’s Sunday opponent.
In Gano’s absence, Joseph made 13 of his 16 field goal attempts and all six of his point-after attempts.
With the need for a replacement, the Giants elevated Irish-born kicker Jude McAtamney from their practice squad. He came to the team via the International Player Pathway Program and is on a roster exemption
The New York Giants were defeated by the Washington Commanders, 27-22, at MetLife Stadium in Week 9 and Tyrone Tracy Jr. is our Player of the Game.
The Commanders have now completed a season sweep of the Giants for the first time since 2021. New York was playing catch-up all game in this divisional matchup and did not have enough in the tank to complete the fourth-quarter comeback.
However, for the second straight week, Tracy Jr. is the Player of the Game as he had another solid game rushing the football. He finished the game with 66 yards rushing on 16 attempts and had one reception for three yards
