Iglesias remains an elite closing option for the first-place Braves during their upcoming road trip.
Raisel Iglesias continues to anchor the bullpen for the first-place Braves, who lead the NL East with an impressive 45-21 record and a three-game winning streak. Over his last seven days, Iglesias has tossed three scoreless innings to secure his role as the undisputed primary closer. With late-inning arm Joe Jimenez currently sidelined on the 60-day injured list, Iglesias's grip on the high-leverage ninth-inning duties is as secure as ever.
Under the hood, Iglesias has been practically untouchable this season, registering a microscopic 0.89 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP over 20 appearances. While some minor regression toward his career norms or our projected 3.49 season ERA is expected eventually, his excellent 10.69 strikeouts-per-nine rate and superb control suggest his current elite production is largely sustainable as a top-tier fantasy asset.
The week ahead features a six-game road trip, starting with three games against the White Sox before moving on to face the Mets. Atlanta's high-powered offense should find success against high-ERA opposing starters like Erick Fedde and Sean Manaea, creating plenty of late-game save opportunities. Fire him up as an elite fantasy option for the week. Verdict: Start.
