Matt Olson | Fantasy Outlook

Matt Olson finds his power stroke as the first-place Braves head into a favorable weekend stretch.

Olson has been locked in over the last week, hitting .385 with two home runs and seven runs scored over his last six games. This surge is a welcome sight for the first-place Braves, who lead the NL East with a 42-20 record and are riding a two-game winning streak. As Atlanta's everyday first baseman, his presence in the heart of the order remains highly secure.

While his 30-day average sits at .235, his recent power display aligns much closer to our rest-of-season projection of 30 home runs. Given his elite career track record—including 29 homers last season and a 54-homer campaign in 2023—this hot streak is a sign of regression toward his elite power baseline rather than a fluke. Expect his overall season average to climb back toward his projected .251 mark.

The rest of the week features excellent home matchups, starting with Toronto's Mason Fluharty today before facing Pittsburgh's Mitch Keller and Bubba Chandler, who carries a 5.05 ERA. With his power fully unlocked and several high-ERA pitchers on tap, Olson is an elite option. Verdict: Start.
