Discussing the most-added fantasy baseball players in the last half of week 4 of the fantasy baseball season.
As the weekend of the fourth week of the fantasy baseball season approaches, there’s a number of players trending upward. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the most-added waiver wire players.
We’ll avoid anyone that we mentioned in our first waiver wire story of the week.

Ryan O'Hearn Fantasy Outlook
Let’s open with the most-added player in O’Hearn, who has been absolutely mashing for the Orioles.
Across 15 games and 52 plate appearances, O’Hearn has a .319 average and .385 on-base percentage. He’s collected 15 total hits, with four homers, two doubles and a triple among those. O’Hearn has driven in six, scored 11 times and walked and struck out five times each.
It was known that O’Hearn would hit near the heart of the team’s lineup, but being a platoon hitter, it was hard for fantasy owners to spend a draft pick on him. He’s still in a platoon, but is mashing when in the lineup (which is often since there’s more right-handed starters typically), so it was time for him to be added. He should have some position versatility, making him a little better fantasy option too.
I’m all for adding O’Hearn. He’ll likely get hot several times over the course of the season, so unless he’s struggling for weeks at a time, I’d do my best to stash him on my roster after picking him up.
Jesse Winker Fantasy Outlook
Winker has been an absolute star for Washington so far, going from a fantasy afterthought to a highly sought after waiver wire player in a hurry.
Winker is hitting .364 with a .485 OBP so far. He’s collected 20 hits across his 68 plate appearances, with six doubles and two homers among those. Winker has driven in five, scored 12 runs, stolen two bases, walked nine times and struck out 12 times.
Winker has posted a sub-.220 average in the past two seasons, but is scorching hot so far. He might only have position eligibility in the outfield (or as a designated hitter), but if you have a roster spot to play with, he’s worth an add while he’s hitting this well. It might not last too long, so take advantage of it while you can.
Reynaldo Lopez Fantasy Outlook
Lopez has been a pleasant surprise for Atlanta, and a much-needed arm now with Spencer Strider out.
Across three starts, Lopez is 2-0 with a sparkling 0.50 earned run average. He’s struck out 18 batters over 18 innings, while walking just six. Lopez has allowed one run and 11 hits.
Lopez has a career 4.22 ERA, although his best marks in his career have come over the past couple seasons. He won’t hold an ERA this low all season, but he’s at least earned himself a handful of starts going forward, and should only lock down his rotation spot further with more strong outings.
He’s faced the White Sox, Mets and Astros so far this season, so it’s not like he’s only faced poor-hitting teams. Lopez isn’t scheduled to pitch this weekend, but could start again against the Marlins next week - Miami is one of the worst-hitting teams in the league, so at least stream him for that matchup. I’d try to keep Lopez on my team for a little while to see if he can keep building on his strong start.
Amed Rosario Fantasy Outlook
Tampa Bay has dealt with a number of injuries in the early going, and Rosario has taken advantage of some extra playing time.
Rosario has a .339 average and .349 OBP across 17 games and 63 plate appearances. He’s collected 21 hits, with four doubles, two homers and a triple among those. Rosario has driven in 10, scored six runs, stolen a base, walked once and struck out nine times.
Rosario should be a bit more appealing with his position versatility, which could help keep him in the lineup even when the team is closer to full strength. He’s worth an add to see if he can stay hot at the plate and maybe retain a big role moving forward.
Kirby Yates Fantasy Outlook
Yates is a waiver wire add because he appears to have taken over as the Rangers’ closer.
Yates has also been fantastic to start the season, not allowing a run over eight appearances and 8 2/3 innings. Yates is 2-0, with two saves and 10 strikeouts to his name. He’s allowed two hits and two walks.
He’s earned the two saves since the start of this week, and also has a win during that span. Even if he isn’t the full-time closer, he’s pitching in enough high-leverage situations to be a decent fantasy asset.
If you are lacking saves, I’m all for taking a chance on Yates. He might lose the closer role at some point, but you might as well take advantage of his current role while it’s there.
