Top Fantasy Baseball Players Halfway through Regular Season: Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Seth Lugo, Jose Ramirez, Garrett Crochet and More

Highlighting the top fantasy hitters and pitchers as we pass the halfway point in the MLB regular season.

We are now past the halfway point in the MLB regular season now, so it’s a perfect time to look at some of the top fantasy hitters and pitchers so far.

There’s of course several other players who have performed well to this point of the season, but for this article, I’m focusing on the best of the best.

Top Hitters

New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge has been the best fantasy player in the game to this point of the season.

In 84 games, Judge has a .316 average, .436 on-base percentage, 31 home runs, 82 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He’s also collected 23 doubles, one triple, five stolen bases and 61 walks, while striking out 93 times.

Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani is just a bit behind Judge right now.

In 82 games, Ohtani has a .316 average and .399 OBP. He’s collected 21 doubles, 26 home runs, two triples, 62 RBIs, 67 runs scored, 16 stolen bases and 45 walks, while striking out 76 times.

Cleveland Guardians’ Jose Ramirez is enjoying another great season at the plate and is on pace to shatter several of his career bests.

Ramirez has a .280 average and .332 OBP, along with 23 home runs, 76 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He’s also tallied 17 doubles, one triple, 15 stolen bases, 25 walks and just 44 strikeouts.

Yankees’ Juan Soto is thriving in his first season in New York.

Soto has a .303 average and .437 OBP. He’s got 61 RBIs, 69 runs scored, 12 doubles, three triples, 20 home runs, four stolen bases, 71 walks and 60 strikeouts.

Baltimore Orioles’ Gunnar Henderson is in the midst of a breakout season.

In 83 games so far, Henderson has a .288 average, .384 OBP and 26 home runs among his 94 total knocks. He’s also got 58 RBIs, 73 runs scored, 13 stolen bases, 17 doubles, four triples, 46 walks and 88 strikeouts this season.

Kansas City Royals’ Bobby Witt Jr. is enjoying his best season in his three-year career.

Witt has a .312 average and .363 OBP across 86 games played. He’s got 22 doubles, nine triples, 12 home runs, 54 RBIs, 65 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, 27 walks and 63 strikeouts.

Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman simply continues to produce.

In 85 contests, Freeman has a .296 average, .398 OBP, 24 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs and 52 RBIs and runs scored. Freeman also has three stolen bases, 49 walks and just 56 strikeouts. 

Philadelphia Phillies’ Bryce Harper is currently on the injured list, but had been raking right before that injury.

Overall, Harper has a .303 average and .399 OBP across 76 games. He has 20 doubles and home runs among his 87 total hits, along with 58 RBIs, 52 runs scored, four stolen bases, 47 walks and 72 strikeouts.

Dodgers’ Mookie Betts is another injured star, but was in the running for top fantasy hitter until he went down.

In 72 games so far, Betts has a .304 average and .405 OBP. He has 16 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, 50 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 47 walks and just 34 strikeouts.

Atlanta Braves’ Marcell Ozuna is a well-known name, but not many expected him to be among the best fantasy options.

In 82 games played, Ozuna has a .300 average and .383 OBP. He’s collected 18 doubles and 21 homers among his 91 total hits, along with 67 RBIs and 48 runs scored. Ozuna has 40 walks to 80 strikeouts.

Phillies’ Alec Bohm is another surprise name this far up the fantasy hitter leaderboard.

In 82 contests, Bohm has a .300 average and .350 OBP. He’s got 28 doubles, one triple and 10 home runs this season. Bohm also has 68 RBIs, 38 runs scored, four stolen bases, 23 walks and only 46 strikeouts.

Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte is another well-known name, but wasn’t expected to perform this well.

In 81 games so far, Marte has a .287 average and .353 OBP, along with 49 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He’s got 19 doubles, two triples and 17 home runs among his 91 total hits, and has walked 33 times to 66 strikeouts.

Another surprising name among the top fantasy hitters is San Diego Padres’ Jurickson Profar.

In 86 games played, Profar has a .314 average and .408 OBP. He’s doubled 15 times, homered on 11 occasions, drove in 55 runs and scored 47 times. He also has four stolen bases, 43 walks and just 51 strikeouts.

Top Pitchers

Royals’ Seth Lugo has surprisingly been the top fantasy pitcher to this point of the year.

In 18 starts, he’s 11-2 with a 2.17 earned run average. He’s struck out 105 batters over 116 innings.

Chicago White Sox’s Garrett Crochet has been electric in his first season as a starting pitcher.

In 18 starts, Crochet is 6-6, but with a 3.02 ERA and a whopping 141 strikeouts over 101 1/3 innings.

Dodgers’ Tyler Glasnow has been good in his first season with Los Angeles.

Glasnow is 8-5 with a 3.23 ERA over 103 innings. He is a big-time fantasy asset with his 136 strikeouts so far.

Detroit Tigers’ Tarik Skubal doesn't have a ton of strikeouts, but has held opponents in check in other ways.

He’s 9-3 with a 2.32 ERA across 16 starts so far. Skubal has 112 strikeouts over 97 innings pitched.

Seattle Mariners’ Logan Gilbert is enjoying the best season in his four-year career.

Gilbert has made 17 starts, going 5-4 with a 2.72 ERA. He’s struck out 102 batters in 112 1/3 innings so far.

Phillies’ Ranger Suarez and Zack Wheeler have both been great fantasy options this season.

Suarez is 10-2 with a 2.27 ERA in 17 starts. He’s struck out 99 batters in 103 innings.

Wheeler has a 2.73 ERA and is 9-4 across 17 starts. He’s punched out 112 batters in 105 2/3 innings.

Braves’ Chris Sale is a well-known name enjoying a bounceback season.

Sale is 10-3 with a 2.79 ERA across 15 starts. Sale has 118 Ks over 93 2/3 innings.

Orioles’ Corbin Burnes has excelled in his first season in Baltimore.

He’s 9-3 with a 2.28 ERA across 17 starts. He has 99 strikeouts in 106 2/3 innings of work.

Boston Red Sox’s Tanner Houck is enjoying a breakout season.

Houck is 7-6, but with a 2.67 ERA in 17 starts. He has 105 strikeouts in 107 2/3 innings so far.

Guardians’ Emmanuel Clase and St. Louis Cardinals’ Ryan Helsley are the top fantasy closers in the league.

Clase is 3-1 with a 0.69 ERA and 25 saves across 40 games pitched. He has 39 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings.

Helsley has a 2-3 record and 2.61 ERA, but 30 saves already. Helsley has 46 strikeouts across 38 innings pitched.

The last pitcher I want to mention is Minnesota Twins’ Joe Ryan

Ryan has made 17 starts so far, with a 5-5 record, but strong 3.21 ERA. He has 110 strikeouts and only 15 walks allowed in 103 2/3 innings.
