October 27 Fantasy Basketball Streamers: Caleb Martin, Luguentz Dort, Cason Wallace, and More
Two teams with the best matchups on Sunday and the players who are widely available in fantasy leagues.
The beginning of the NBA season is exciting, but it quickly fades into the background against the NFL, especially with a Yankees/Dodgers World Series happening simultaneously. It’s understandable that basketball fans will miss a lot of what happens over the first few weeks simply due to overload.
We’re here to help you with your fantasy basketball needs, specifically in this case finding streaming players who are facing weaker defensive teams (and those who play fast). The best players are the best players, but the edges of your roster can be maximized by finding the best teams to target.
Let’s look at two teams who have good matchups on Sunday and the players on those squads who are widely available in fantasy leagues. Team and individual stats are from NBA.com.
Philadelphia 76ers @ Indiana Pacers
The Pacers played at the second-fastest pace last season and had the seventh-worst defense. They were in the top three in most points per game allowed to shooting guards, small forwards, and power forwards.
Indiana has given up double-digit points to all five of their opponents’ starters in both of their games this season. Detroit guard Cade Cunningham did the most in Game 1 with 28 points; the Knicks had four guys score at least 20 points on Friday: guards Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, forward Mikal Bridges, and center Karl-Anthony Towns.
Philly is a little tough to judge right now because both Joel Embiid and Paul George missed the first two games and probably won’t play in this one. The other guys will need a group effort to account for those absences, giving everyone here some fantasy value.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Atlanta Hawks
Atlanta played at the sixth-fastest pace and had the fourth-worst defensive rating last season. They were in the top seven in points per game allowed to shooting guards, small forwards, and power forwards.
In the Hawks’ first game, they gave up the most points to Brooklyn guards Cam Thomas (36) and Dennis Schroder (13), while forwards Cameron Johnson (14) and Jalen Wilson (13) also did damage. Atlanta played Charlotte on Friday and were beat up by guards again (Lamelo Ball had 34 and Tre Mann 17); forward Miles Bridges had 27.
OKC has a lot of good players; that’s a good thing because they can withstand injuries and eventually consolidate guys into a superstar trade (along with their copious draft picks). More players will get regular minutes than on most other teams, bringing down the value of every complimentary guy a little bit.
