Looking at an underrated fantasy basketball player from each Western Conference team after roughly a month of games.
We’re through roughly a month of the NBA regular season, which makes it a perfect time to start looking at a number of things.
Here, I wanted to highlight one underrated fantasy player from each team. I’ll cover the Western Conference teams in this story. Check back for the Eastern Conference writeup.

Dallas
Naji Marshall has scored 322 fantasy points this season, which is the fifth-highest mark on the team. He’s only rostered in 16% of leagues though, which is far less than P.J. Washington and Dereck Lively II, who are owned in most fantasy leagues.
Denver
Peyton Watson has accumulated 268 fantasy points this season. He’s rostered in 41% of leagues, but I feel that number should be even higher. Watson has scored in double figures in six of the past seven games and is trending upward.
Golden State
Andrew Wiggins is at 362 fantasy points for the season. He’s rostered in 80% of leagues, but I still feel that’s a bit low. He’s only failed to reach double digits for points in two games this season, and has four games over 20 points. Wiggins does enough else on the court to be consistently starting in standard leagues.
Houston
Dillon Brooks has scored 304 fantasy points, but is rostered in just 21% of leagues. He’s not the most well-rounded player, but he does enough each night to tack on to his scoring, and he’s a better fantasy option than a lot of people think.
LA Clippers
Kris Dunn has tallied 340 fantasy points and is rostered in only 16% of leagues. He’s averaging nearly 22 minutes a game and fills up the stat sheet pretty well. Dunn should definitely be rostered in more deep leagues.
LA Lakers
Rui Hachimura has tallied 249 fantasy points, and would have quite a bit more if he could stay on the court. He’s rostered in 41% of leagues right now, but also hasn’t played in over a week. Hachimura is a player to keep tabs on and add when he’s back on the court. In a bit deeper setup, Hachimura should be stashed on your bench.
Memphis
Santi Aldama has racked up 479 points, but is still available in about 18% of leagues. Aldama is averaging about 28 minutes per game and putting up pretty well-rounded numbers, and right now, I think he should be rostered in just about every fantasy league.
Minnesota
Jaden McDaniels has totaled 381 fantasy points and is rostered in 58% of leagues. While he’s mostly just a scorer, he does enough else across his 30 minutes a night to be rostered and played in a few more fantasy leagues.
New Orleans
Brandon Boston Jr. has scored 347 fantasy points, but is rostered in just 58% of leagues. New Orleans has dealt with a ton of injuries and Boston has taken advantage. Players returning from injuries could eventually lead to Boston serving a smaller role, but for now, he’s a player to play, and that goes for any league type.
Oklahoma City
Luguentz Dort has racked up 416 fantasy points and is rostered in 56% of leagues. He’s had a couple rough games in a row, which has led to fantasy owners dropping him, but I’m against that and think Dort needs to be added in more leagues.
Phoenix
Royce O'Neale has tallied 403 fantasy points and is currently rostered in 31% of leagues. He’s been a bit inconsistent with his scoring, but tacking on some other stats, O’Neale has been a pretty good daily fantasy contributor, and I think he should be added and played in more leagues.
Portland
Toumani Camara has scored 354 fantasy points and is rostered in 37% of leagues. He hasn’t had many poor fantasy showings this season, and he’s averaging 31.2 minutes a game, so I’m not sure why he’s not rostered more.
San Antonio
Keldon Johnson has 387 fantasy points, but is rostered in only 2/3 of fantasy leagues. He’s scoring at a decent clip, and tacks on a good amount of rebounds most nights. With a few assists, steals and blocks thrown in, Johnson is a bit better fantasy asset than his own percentage suggests.
Sacramento
Kevin Huerter has tallied 337 fantasy points for the season and is rostered in 41% of leagues. He’s mostly known for his scoring, but he’s averaging 8.44 assists, rebounds, steals and blocks combined per game, which makes him a pretty solid daily contributor, who I think deserves more love in deeper leagues.
Utah
Keyonte George is rostered in 59% of leagues, but has nearly as many fantasy points (337) as Collin Sexton, who sits at 85% rostered. George is playing over 30 minutes a game and filling up the stats sheet fairly well on top of the 15.2 points he averages, so that definitely deserves a higher own percentage.
