Fantasy Baseball Week 2 Projections and Waiver Wire Options: Ivan Herrera, Tyler Soderstrom, Bowden Francis, Kristian Campbell, Ronel Blanco and More

Looking at week 2 fantasy baseball projections to identify some possible streaming options.

After looking at the top fantasy hitting performances from Sunday, along with pitching performances (and the top waiver wire options for hitters and pitchers), it's time to move on to the second week of fantasy play.

Here, we'll use the weekly projections at FantasySP to identify some more waiver options.

Catchers

St. Louis' Ivan Herrera is projected for 23 fantasy points over six games this week. He's owned in nearly 37% of leagues. 

Herrera has four hits, including two doubles, over his first eight plate appearances this season. He has two RBIs, a walk and a run scored as well.

Arizona's Gabriel Moreno is projected for 20 fantasy points, as is Washington's Keibert Ruiz. Both catchers could play up to six games this week. Moreno is rostered in nearly 67% of leagues, while Ruiz is at 58%.

In three games and across 10 plate appearances, Moreno has five hits, one RBI, two walks and three runs scored. Ruiz has five hits, including two homers and a double, three RBIs and four runs scored in three games and 11 plate appearances.

 Chicago Cubs' Miguel Amaya (12% owned), Toronto's Alejandro Kirk (22%) and Pittsburgh's Joey Bart (19%) all have six games on tap this week, and are projected for 16 or 17 fantasy points.

First Basemen

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom is projected for 21 fantasy points across six games, and is owned in 50% of leagues. 

Soderstrom has three homers and a double among his seven hits in four games and 16 plate appearances so far. He also has four RBIs, a walk and three runs scored.

Cincinnati's Christian Encarnacion-Strand is owned in 45% of leagues and is projected for 21 fantasy points. 

Encarnacion-Strand has a double and a homer among his four hits in three games and 12 plate appearances so far. He also has an RBI and run scored.

Washington's Josh Bell (13%), Cleveland's Carlos Santana (25%), Washington's Nathaniel Lowe (59%), New York Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt (89%) and Tampa Bay's Yandy Diaz (91%) are all projected for 19 points and have six games each.

Milwaukee's Rhys Hoskins (54%), Los Angeles Angels' Nolan Schanuel (15%) and Tampa Bay's Jonathan Aranda (12%) are all projected for 18 fantasy points. Hoskins has seven games he could play in, while Aranda and Schanuel could play up to six times.

Second Basemen

Boston's Kristian Campbell is owned in 70% of leagues, yet is projected for the second-most fantasy points among 2B at 24 points. He has six games he could play in this week.

Campbell has a homer and two doubles among his six hits in his first four games and 16 plate appearances. He has an RBI, two walks and two runs scored as well.

Milwaukee's Brice Turang could play up to seven games. He's projected for 24 points as well, and is rostered in 83% of leagues.

Turang has a homer among his three hits, three RBIs, a walk and stolen base and four runs scored in three games played and 13 plate appearances.

Chicago Cubs' Nico Hoerner is owned in 93% of leagues and is projected for 23 fantasy points across six games this week. 

In three games and 13 plate appearances so far, Hoerner has three singles, an RBI, a walk and one run scored.

Detroit's Gleyber Torres (88%) is projected for 21 fantasy points. Washington's Luis Garcia Jr. (90%) is set for 20 points, as is Miami's Otto Lopez (38%). Kansas City's Jonathan India (72%), Cincinnati's Gavin Lux (10%) and Tampa Bay's Brandon Lowe (61%) are all set for 19 points.

Lux is the only second baseman in that big group with seven games this week - everyone else has six games they could play in.

Shortstops

Miami's Xavier Edwards is projected for 25 fantasy points over six games this week. He's owned in 84% of leagues.

Edwards has a double among his three hits so far. He also has two RBIs, a stolen base, three walks and two runs scored.

Minnesota's Carlos Correa is owned in 70% of leagues and is projected for 22 points over six games. Correa has no hits and just one walk over three games and 12 plate appearances so far. 

Chicago Cubs' Dansby Swanson (87%) is projected for 22 points over six games. He has a double and homer among his five hits in six games and 24 plate appearances so far. Swanson also has two RBIs, a stolen base, two walks and three runs scored.

Arizona's Geraldo Perdomo (6%) and St. Louis' Masyn Winn (75%) are both projected for 20 points over six games. San Francisco's Tyler Fitzgerald (32%), Houston's Jeremy Pena (86%), New York Yankees' Anthony Volpe (88%) and Boston's David Hamilton (9%) are projected for 18 fantasy points over six games each this week.

Third Basemen

Arizona's Eugenio Suarez is set for 23 fantasy points over six games this week. He's up to 93% owned after a big first series.

He had four homers, seven RBIs, a stolen base, two walks and five runs scored in four games and 17 plate appearances in that series.

St. Louis' Nolan Arenado is projected for 20 fantasy points across six games this week. He's rostered in 93% of leagues as well. 

In his first series, spanning three games and 13 plate appearances, Arenado had a homer and two doubles among five hits. He also had two RBIs, two walks and three runs scored.

Los Angeles Dodgers' Max Muncy (77%) and New York Mets' Mark Vientos (88%) are both projected for 19 fantasy points over six games.

Milwaukee's Joey Ortiz (37%) is projected for 18 points over seven games. Cincinnati's Jeimer Candelario (19%) also has seven games on tap and is projected for 18 fantasy points.

Outfielders

San Francisco's Jung Hoo Lee is projected for 26 fantasy points over six games this week. He's rostered in 53% of leagues right now.

Lee had a double among his three hits in the first three games and 12 plate appearances. He also had two RBIs, a stolen base, two walks and four runs scored.

LA Dodgers' Tommy Edman is projected for 23 points over six games. He's owned in 94% of leagues.

Edman has three homers among his five hits in the first five games and 21 plate appearances. He also has four RBIs and four runs scored.

Seattle's Victor Robles (45%), Cincinnati's TJ Friedl (34%) and Baltimore's Cedric Mullins (79%) all all projected for 22 points this week. Robles and Mullins have six games each, while Friedl could play up to seven.

Minnesota's Byron Buxton (54%) is projected for 21 points over six games. Arizona's Jake McCarthy (40%) and LA Angels' Jorge Soler (59%) are each projected for 20 fantasy points over six games.

Starting Pitchers

Toronto's Bowden Francis is projected for 26 fantasy points over two starts. He's owned in 83% of leagues right now.

New York Mets' David Peterson is another pitcher at 26 projected points over two starts. He's rostered in 41% of leagues right now. 

Houston's Ronel Blanco has two starts scheduled and is owned in 83% of leagues right now. Blanco is projected for 25 fantasy points.

Cleveland's Luis L. Ortiz (7%) is projected for 20 points over two starts. Cincinnati's Brady Singer (44%) is at 19 projected points over two starts.

Relief Pitchers

LA Dodgers' Kirby Yates is projected for 16 fantasy points this week. His team has six games scheduled, and the reliever is currently owned in 71% of leagues.

Colorado's Seth Halvorsen is rostered in just 17% of leagues, but is projected for 13 points this week. His team has six games scheduled.

LA Angels' Kenley Jansen is projected for 12 points this coming week. His team has six games scheduled and the closer is owned in 76% of leagues.
