Top Fantasy Hitters in the Early Going: Aaron Judge, Wilyer Abreu, Eugenio Suarez, Shohei Ohtani, Kyle Manzardo and More
Looking at the top hitters in several stats in the early going of the regular season.
Every day since the MLB regular season opened, I've been putting together recaps of the previous day of action. I plan to keep doing that all season, but with the focus on waiver wire hitters, some of the best fantasy hitters are skipped over.
So occasionally, I'm going to highlight the league's best hitters in a separate story. This is the first story in that series.
Being this early in the regular season, it's not time to panic if your top-end fantasy hitters don't appear here - this is simply to show who got their seasons off to hot starts.
Also of note, the Cubs and Dodgers' hitters have an advantage after playing two games in the Tokyo Series, so their numbers could be a touch inflated considering I'll be looking at leaders in several stats.
That's enough chit chat. Let's dive in!

Most Hits
Going into Monday, March 31 games, it's Boston's Wilyer Abreu, Toronto's Bo Bichette, Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom and San Diego's Fernando Tatis Jr. leading the way with seven hits each.
Abreu was one of the top waiver wire pickups after his hot start. He homered and doubled two times each, while also driving in six runs, walking five times, stealing a base, scoring five runs and not striking out even once.
Bichette got off to a great start after having a down 2024 season. He doubled twice among his knocks and also drove in a run, walked twice, scored four times and did not strikeout.
Soderstrom is another big waiver wire pickup after his good start at the plate. He has three homers and a double, along with four RBIs, one walk, three runs scored and five strikeouts.
Tatis is one of the best fantasy hitters in the game, so his hot start shouldn't surprise anyone. He had a double and a homer among his knocks. Tatis also had two RBIs, two walks, three stolen bases, five runs scored and just one strikeout.
Most Home Runs
It's New York Yankees' Aaron Judge and Arizona's Eugenio Suarez atop the home run leaderboard with four each.
Judge also had two doubles among his six hits in the first three games of his season. He drove in 11 runs, walked on three occasions, scored eight runs and struck out just twice.
Suarez homered for all of his knocks in his first four games. He drove in seven runs, scored five times, walked twice, stole a base and struck out three times.
New York Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr., Los Angeles Dodgers' Tommy Edman, Athletics' Soderstrom and Baltimore's Jordan Westburg have three homers each.
Chisholm also added two singles in his opening three games. He drove in six runs, walked once and scored five times. Chisholm's only downside was four strikeouts.
Edman has appeared in five games, and has two more singles to accompany his homers. He also has four RBIs and runs scored, along with four strikeouts and no walks.
Westburg homered for half of his six hits in the opening series. He also drove in three runs, scored four times, walked once and struck out on three occasions.
Most RBIs
After Judge, Suarez and Chicago Cubs' Kyle Tucker and Miguel Amaya are all tied for second in RBIs with seven.
Tucker is one of the top fantasy hitters in the game, so seeing him deliver early on is a good sign. He has six hits across six games, including two homers and doubles. Tucker also has four walks, a stolen base, two runs scored and five strikeouts so far.
Amaya is the Cubs' everyday catcher, and will see his own percentage for fantasy increase in a hurry if he can keep delivering. Across four games, Amaya also has four doubles and six total hits, one run scored, no walks and three strikeouts.
Most Walks
Atlanta's Marcell Ozuna has a whopping seven walks through just four games. He has two hits (both singles), two RBIs, one run scored and five strikeouts as well.
Pittsburgh's Oneil Cruz has six walks to his name. He homered among his two hits, drove in two runs, stole four bases, scored three runs and struck out three times across the first four games.
