January 2 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Toumani Camara, Duncan Robinson, Immanuel Quickley, Ausar Thompson, Caleb Martin and More
NBA players who are popular waiver wire pickups at the end of the fantasy week.
It’s time to go over some fantasy basketball waiver wire options.
The five players we’ll talk about this week all were pulled from the FantasySP Waiver Wire Pickups page, which is updated daily. Let’s dive right in!

Toumani Camara Fantasy Outlook
Camara is the most-added fantasy player on January 2. A recent 7.8% increase has him rostered in 25.66% of leagues overall.
Across 31 games this season, Camara is averaging 8.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.5 blocks across 30.6 minutes. He’s shooting 42% overall and 34.1% from 3-point land.
Despite what the season numbers show, Camara’s rebounding totals have been much stronger of late, with at least seven boards in each of the past five games. He’s only scored in double figures in two of those games, but with a few other assists, steals and blocks each game, Camara is a decent fantasy asset.
Looking at his season averages, Camara should only be rostered in really deep fantasy leagues. I wouldn’t mind adding him based on what he’s shown of late, and because he’s playing a healthy amount of minutes.
He’s likely to top out as just a fantasy option in deep leagues, but he could be useful to roster and play for those of you in those leagues. Camara has some long-term appeal as just a 24-year-old as well.
Duncan Robinson Fantasy Outlook
Robinson’s own percentage is up to 25.18 after a 6.89% increase.
In 29 games and 18 starts so far, Robinson is averaging 11.3 points, 2.5 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks across 23.6 minutes. He’s shooting 42.1% overall and 37.9% from deep.
Since December 7, Robinson has scored in double figures in eight of 10 games, so I’m honestly a bit surprised his own percentage isn’t even higher. He doesn’t add a ton of other numbers, but he adds in enough rebounds, assists, steals and blocks to be a useful fantasy player in some deeper setups.
He has been playing more of late too, so things are looking up for Robinson. If you are in need of a 3-point shooter in a deeper league, Robinson is a pretty solid option right now.
Immanuel Quickley Fantasy Outlook
Quickley was added in 6.34% of leagues, bringing his overall number to 92.33%.
He’s played in just four games, and his own percentage is shooting up fast after a big first game back on January 1. He had 21 points, 15 assists and four rebounds across 32 minutes played.
That’s of course fantastic fantasy production, and Quickley is a player owned in most leagues when he’s healthy. This is a no-brainer pickup - add Quickley before it’s too late!
Ausar Thompson Fantasy Outlook
Thompson was added in 5.54% of leagues and now sits at 33.33% overall.
Thompson has been ramping things up after getting a late start to his season. He’s played 13 games, starting three. Thompson is averaging 7.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.3 blocks across 18 minutes so far.
His own percentage is rising because of the past two games. Thompson has played 24 and 25 minutes in those games, and after the injury to Jaden Ivey, Thompson should be in store for more minutes and probably a bigger role moving forward.
When playing 25 minutes on December 28, Thompson had 10 points, six rebounds and two assists and steals. He had six points, five rebounds and steals and an assist in his 24 minutes on January 1.
With more playing time, Thompson’s fantasy value should only go up. He’s still just 21 years old, and he hasn’t fully figured things out yet, so fantasy owners can hope for that as the season progresses while knowing the Pistons are going to give him ample opportunities to shine.
I think Thompson will be owned in most deep fantasy leagues in short order, so don’t wait around if you are hoping to add him. For those of you in standard leagues, it’s probably time to put Thompson on your watch list in case he hits his stride soon.
Caleb Martin Fantasy Outlook
Martin was added in 5.49% of fantasy leagues and is up to 27.82% overall.
Martin has started 19 of the 26 games he’s played this season and is averaging 30.3 minutes a contest. He’s also averaging 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1 steal and 0.5 blocks.
He has played at least 36 minutes in four straight contests. Martin has hit double figures in two of those games and is averaging 11.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1 block in that span, so it makes sense that fantasy owners are picking him up.
He’s another deep-league option, but will probably top out as one. His own percentage likely won’t rise all that much more, but he’s worth keeping in mind for streaming purposes, and when he’s on hot streaks, which he is a bit right now.
Other Waiver Options
Usually, I only discuss players who saw their own percentages shoot up five or more percent, but I wanted to start adding this section in case a player is steadily added over time. I’ll break things down between standard leagues and deeper leagues.
For those of you in standard leagues, Trayce Jackson-Davis, D'Angelo Russell, Scoot Henderson, Deni Avdija, Jrue Holiday, Bennedict Mathurin, Dennis Schroder, Naz Reid, Rui Hachimura, Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins all appear on the waiver wire list today.
Jackson-Davis is up to 85.13% rostered after a 4.84% increase. Russell went up 4% and now sits at 96.4% overall. Henderson is more widely available, sitting at 54.92% after a 3.97% increase.
Avdija is up to 83.93% after a 3.69% increase. Holiday is up 3.27% and sitting at 94.48% overall. Mathurin has an 82.97% mark overall after a recent 2.97% increase.
Schroeder has bumped up 2.68% and sits at 75.54% overall. Reid is up to 82.01% after a 2.68% increase. Hachimura now sits at 65.23% owned after a 2.28% increase.
Kuminga is up 2.1% and at 94% overall now. Wiggins sits at 91.37% overall after a 2.08% increase.
For those of you in deeper leagues, Cason Wallace, Guerschon Yabusele, Nikola Jovic, Luguentz Dort, Mike Conley, Keon Johnson, Gary Trent Jr., Day'Ron Sharpe and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are some options.
Wallace is up to being owned in 23.02% of leagues after a 4.21% increase. Yabusele got a 3.94% boost and sits at 39.57% overall now.
Jovic is up to 14.15% overall after a 3.46% increase. Dort is rostered in 45.32% of leagues after a 3.28% bump.
Conley is at 48.2% after a 3.2% increase today. Johnson is up 3.1% and at 26.14% overall.
Trent sits at 12.95% overall after a 2.95% bump. Sharpe is owned in just 5.52% of leagues after a 2.91% increase. Caldwell-Pope is up 2.27% and at 38.85% overall.
