The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (8-0) host the Washington Commanders (4-5) tonight on Monday Night Football. It’s the Eagles’ second prime-time game in as many weeks. This time the matchup is a bit tougher as Philly tries to remain undefeated against their NFC East rivals. The Eagles enter this game with Jalen Hurts playing close to an MVP-caliber level and as one of the healthiest teams in the league. The Commanders are expected to get some reinforcements with standout rookie wide receiver Jahan Dotson slated to return from injury.

We’re going to take a deeper look at this Week 10 Monday Night Football matchup and get you caught up on everything you need to know for DFS and betting purposes.

Week 10 Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles NFL Best Bets

On the surface, this looks like another easy Eagles win. However, these old-school NFC East hard-nosed rivalries have a funny way of getting competitive in a hurry regardless of the matchup looks on paper. Especially when the games are meaningful for both teams which is exactly the case in this one.

Despite being undefeated the Eagles sit just one game ahead of the 8-1 Vikings for home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs and a bye week in round one. The Commanders enter Monday Night Football as the eighth seed in the NFC just one spot out of the playoffs. A win tonight would leave them just half a game behind the San Francisco 49ers and keep them ahead of the Packers and Falcons. There is a lot on the line tonight.

The Commanders will have plenty to contend with tonight. The Eagles’ offense is dynamic, to say the least. Hurts has taken a huge leap forward this season aided by the addition of superstar wideout A.J. Brown. Philly’s offense ranks fourth in yards per game and second in points. They are ranked top eight in the league in both passing and rushing boasting the most balanced offense in the NFL.

What’s scary is the defense has been just as good as the offense. They rank third in both yards and points in the league. The pass defense has been dominant ranking second-best in the NFL. However, they have been vulnerable on the ground at times this season ranking 20th against the run. We saw the Texans have success on the ground last week and make what should have been a laugher a competitive game. The issue is they usually jump out to a lead and take away opponents’ ability to attack on the ground as much as they’d like to.

Washington’s defense has been solid this season ranking 14th in the league and is a bit tougher against the run than the pass. The offense, however, has not been solid. Whether it’s been Carson Wentz or Taylor Heinicke under center it hasn’t looked great. They are 25th in yards and even worse at 27th in points per game with just 17.7. Neither their rushing nor passing attacks crack the top 20 in the league. If they are going to hang in this game they will need to play strong defense and run the ball to control time of possession because it will get ugly if they end up in a shootout.

DFS Showdown: Most Intriguing Plays

We will be giving you insight into the most intriguing players this week on MNF. You generally won’t see superstars in this section. All prices are based on Draft Kings.

Antonio Gibson, Washington Commanders $10,200

Gibson’s season arc hasn’t made a ton of sense and it’s been filled with ups and downs. However, you can make a case that all things equal he should be the Commanders’ top fantasy option tonight. He’s a bit of an unpredictable start being that we saw him lose his job this summer, then regain it only for him to be phased almost completely out of the offense when Brian Robinson returned from his gunshot wounds to now looking like the best back in a split-back system. The absence of J.D. McKissic has also made him less volatile because he has a much safer floor in PPR formats. You should target Gibson ahead of Robinson and he gives you a better bang for your buck than the pricey Miles Sanders.

Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders $7,500

Dotson started his career off on fire before going down to injury. He has played four career games and has scored four touchdowns. Early in the season, he was the top fantasy asset on the Commanders. Since his injury Terry McClaurin has stepped back into that role. However, with Dotson back tonight it will be interesting to see how he impacts the dynamic of this passing attack. A lot has changed since Week 4, including the starting quarterback. Nevertheless, if he does come back and finds the end zone again tonight you may not get him at this price again.

Kenneth Gainwell, Philadelphia Eagles $6,900

If you are looking for a cheaper option with upside, you should be targeting Gainwell. His usage has been sporadic, nonetheless, in many games he gets plenty of involvement. He has three touchdowns and is coming off a game with four carries, three receptions, and a TD. Most likely Gainwell will get targets in the passing game and he’s utilized down by the red zone. At this price, it’s hard to ask for anything more than that.
