Is Jets’ Breece Hall a Player You Should Trade For?
There are a number of big-time names inside the FantasySP Fantasy Assistant predictive trades tab. One name that caught my attention was New York Jets running back Breece Hall.
At the time of this publication, Hall had an Expected Trade Interest percentage of 18, which was tied for the fifth-highest mark.
Is Hall a player you should be targeting, and if so, what kind of offer should you assemble for him? Let’s discuss.

Breece Hall Fantasy Outlook
Hall has put up impressive numbers in limited opportunities so far this season. He leads the team with 32 rushing attempts and 210 rushing yards. He’s yet to score, but his 6.6-yard average is definitely a good sign coming off his injury last season.
A sort of concerning thing is that teammate Dalvin Cook has gotten almost all of the red zone carries, with six to Hall’s one. Cook has been unimpressive with his 30 total carries, gaining just 74 yards. He also hasn’t scored on the ground.
Hall also has caught five of the 10 passes thrown his way for an additional 42 yards. His 25 fantasy points so far account for over half of the team’s points from the running back position.
Hall’s touches have varied in the early going, getting 11 in week 1, four in week 2, 13 in week three and nine in week 4. Having Zach Wilson at quarterback instead of Aaron Rodgers has changed the identity of the Jets, and Hall hasn’t been given a big workload, which has kept him from really shining each week.
After Hall went for 147 total yards in week 1, he had just nine yards in week 2. He was limited to 27 total yards in week 3 before going for 69 yards this past weekend.
When New York signed Cook, we expected the two to split carries, but Hall to eventually take on the majority of the snaps and touches. That hasn’t happened yet, and it’s plummeted Hall’s fantasy stock to a point where he’s near the “buy low” category.
Should You Trade for Hall?
The short answer is yes, you should try to trade for Hall, especially while his value is lower.
His numbers since week 1 haven’t been great, but week 4 was a step in the right direction. Another positive from week 4 was that Wilson looked solid for a good part of the contest. If he can continue to take care of the ball and make some timely throws, that will help open some things up for the Jets’ running game.
As for Hall’s limited workload so far, I think the Jets will continue to expand the back’s snaps and touches as the season rolls along.
Even while being limited, Hall is still able to put up a solid number of fantasy points. If he gets more touches in the future, then you’ll hit the jackpot. If he continues to be monitored closely in an effort to keep him healthy and effective for a full season, he’s still a solid option at your flex spot.
If your fantasy team is desperate for help at the running back spot, trading for Hall is a little bit more risky of a move, so I wouldn’t go all in for the back. I’m more a fan of trading for Hall if you already have strong depth on your team and are looking for another potential breakout player later in the season.
What to Offer for Hall
One positive thing with Hall’s reduced workload is that his trade value is pretty low for a player of his talent level. He’s currently ranked as the 29th running back in our player ratings. Hall is the 59th ranked player overall. Check out the ratings and see what kind of deal you can come up with.
Other running backs near him in trade value are Minnesota Vikings’ Alexander Mattison, Indianapolis Colts’ Jonathan Taylor and Miami Dolphins Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane. Of that quartet, I’d try either Mattison, who has had a similar season to Hall, or Mostert, who started hot but could be trending toward losing snaps and touches.
As mentioned before, I’m more of a fan of trading away depth for Hall. So scroll further down that player ratings list and find a couple guys at positions of strength that you can afford to lose and try that kind of trade instead.
