Summary
Benson has the size and speed to transition into a work-horse back on the next level. In a class that isn't particularly strong at the position during an era when the bell-cow back is going extinct, he has a shot to be a guy who handles a massive workload. The physical talent is all there. Granted, his game isn't quite as polished as some studs we've seen come right out of college, but there is no reason he can't get there by his sophomore season in the right system with some solid coaching.
His combination of power and explosiveness can cause all types of problems for opposing defenses. There is elusiveness there as well, however, at times it can hinder him more than it helps him. If he learns to just lower his shoulder pads, explode through the hole, and pile up yards then some team is going to get a steal on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft

Our Take
There are three backs that we graded out as second-round locks and Benson is one of them. We like his upside as an every-down back and he has the build and skill to be a difference-maker in the NFL. In this class that isn't the case with too many backs.
As long as he can improve on a few minor issues the sky is the limit for this kid. It will be interesting to see where he lands because he could be very productive if he lands on a team that doesn't have an established RB1 in front of him.
