Fantasy Football Snap & Target Report Week 1: Cooper Kupp, Joe Mixon, Wan'Dale Robinson, Rhamondre Stevenson, Isaiah Likely and More
Morgan takes a look at some of the most important usage numbers for fantasy football coming out of Week 1.
Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books. It was a strange week of fantasy football, with some unfamiliar names leading the way and many big stars really struggling.
Now that every team has played, let’s look at the FantasySP Target, Touch, Snap and Redzone Leaders to see if we can identify some good waiver wire targets, or maybe players to target in trades.

Fantasy Football WR/TE Leaders
Ten wide receivers or tight ends finished with double-digit target totals in week 1 - Cooper Kupp (21), Wan'Dale Robinson, Courtland Sutton, Tyreek Hill and Isaiah Likely (12 each), Keenan Allen and Garrett Wilson (11 each) and CeeDee Lamb, Zay Flowers and A.J. Brown (10 each).
The names that stick out there are Robinson (13% owned), Sutton (16% started), Likely (24% owned),
Kupp was the only player in week 1 with double-digit receptions (14).
Likely hauled in nine receptions, while Chris Godwin and Devaughn Vele had eight grabs each. Godwin started in about 55% of leagues, while Vele was barely rostered in any.
Hill, Rashee Rice and DeVonta Smith all had seven catches in week 1.
Of players with five or more targets, Godwin, Vele, Ja'Marr Chase, Stefon Diggs, Jauan Jennings and Jaylen Waddle caught all of the passes thrown their way.
Kupp played the most snaps (78) of any receiver this week, and he’ll likely continue to play a ton of snaps now that Puka Nacua is out for the next month.
Smith played 76 snaps, while Brown, Amari Cooper and Demarcus Robinson all played 72 snaps. Flowers, Malik Nabers and Elijah Moore all logged 71 snaps.
Kupp, Robinson, Likely, Wilson, Allen Lazard, Mike Evans and Diggs all had three red zone targets in week 1. Diggs was the only one to haul in all three targets. Kupp, Wilson, Lazard and Evans all caught two red zone passes - K.J. Osborn also had two red zone grabs on as many targets.
While we’ve focused on the leaders in several stats, now it’s time to turn our attention to pass catchers who played a lot but didn’t produce much.
Tucker Kraft played 64 snaps, but had just three targets and two catches.
Theo Johnson had one catch on four targets across 61 snaps played.
DK Metcalf was limited to three catches on four targets across 59 snaps played.
Hunter Henry played 54 snaps, but had just two catches and three targets.
Jalen McMillan was at 53 snaps, but only one catch and three targets.
Despite playing 72 snaps, Cooper had just two receptions on nine targets.
Sutton made just four grabs on his 12 targets. Allen was at four receptions on his 11 targets.
Fantasy Football RB Leaders
Joe Mixon was the only running back over 30 touches, finishing with 33 in week 1. He played 57 snaps and had 30 rushing attempts and three catches.
Jordan Mason (starting in place of an injured Christian McCaffrey), Rhamondre Stevenson and Saquon Barkley all were over 25 touches.
Mason had 29 touches - he got 28 rushing attempts and a catch across 58 snaps played.
Stevenson played 51 snaps, getting 25 rushing attempts and three catches while on the field.
Barkley was on the field for 61 snaps. He had 24 rushing attempts and two catches.
Bijan Robinson (23), James Cook and Kenneth Walker (22 each), Najee Harris, Breece Hall, Rachaad White and Kyren Williams (21 each) and Alvin Kamara (20) had 20 or more touches.
Williams was the only back over 70 snaps, playing 71 in total.
Barkley was second with his 61 snaps. The only other backs over 50 snaps were Mason (58), Mixon and Jerome Ford (57 each), Stevenson (51), Robinson and Devin Singletary (50 each).
Ford only had 18 touches across his 51 snaps.
Singletary had just 14 touches across 50 snaps played.
Josh Jacobs got 18 touches across 49 snaps played.
Isiah Pacheco played just 43 snaps, but got 17 touches in his time on the field.
Jonathan Taylor also played 43 snaps, getting 16 touches.
Cook only played 38 snaps, so his 22 touches were a very high total.
Harris got his 21 touches in just 38 snaps.
Kamara was on the field for only 34 snaps, and he got the ball 20 times in those plays.
