Fantasy Football Week 2 Injury Report: Jordan Love, Kenneth Walker III, A.J. Brown, Jake Ferguson and More

These are the key injuries you need to know heading into Week 2.

Quarterbacks

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (Knee)

As expected Love is going to sit this week out and is very much in danger of missing at least a few more weeks after this one. Malik Willis will get the start and is the projected starter until Love is able to return. Willis is a major downgrade for the entire offense.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (Concussion)

Tua suffered another concussion on Thursday night and is out indefinitely. That could mean one game or that could mean the rest of the year. We will just have to monitor things as news breaks. No one knows how this will play out with his injury history and anything you hear that's not directly from the team is speculation. We will update you as we get information.

For now you should prepare for him to be sidelined for the foreseeable future. Whether or not he is placed on injured reserve prior to Week 3 will be very telling about how much time he might miss.

Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers (Calf)

Wilson continues to progress through his calf injury and is officially questionable for Week 2. However, it does appear that Justin Fields is in line for another start. It's not clear if that's due to Wilson's health for Fields' Week 1 performance. However, we do expect Wilson to be upgraded from emergency QB3 to QB2 this week in Pittsburgh.

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers (Calf/Achilles)

Reports took a very negative turn on Thursday in regard to CMC's outlook moving forward. After a week of positive reports, it came out Thursday afternoon that it was his worst day of practice as far as pain goes, and not only will he miss Week 2, but he could be heading to injured reserve. That would force him to miss at least four weeks following the designation.

This is a nightmare scenario for fantasy owners who drafted him at or near the top of the first round. Jordan Mason is expected to be the bell-cow RB1 until McCaffrey returns with Deebo Samuel Sr. mixing in with some carries of his own. The absence of CMC will be a big boost for Samuel and a small boost for George Kittle.

Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks (Abdomen)

Walker's injury didn't appear to be serious early in the week, but he is now considered doubtful for Week 2. That leaves Zach Charbonnet as the RB1 for Seattle this week against New England. He should be considered a viable flex option with upside. He was the only back other than Walker to get a touch for Seattle this week. A 20+ touch day is very much in the realm of possibilities and possibly even a probability for him on Sunday.

Audric Estime, Denver Broncos (Ankle)

There were some rumblings of Estime potentially stealing Javonte Williams's job sooner rather than later after Williams continued to look bad in Week 1. That won't be happening for at least a month because Estime has been placed on IR and will miss at least four weeks. This is a boost for Jaleel McLaughlin and perhaps and saving grace for Williams.

Jamaal Williams, New Orleans Saints (Shoulder)

Williams popped up with a shoulder injury this week but should be good to go for Week 2 against the Cowboys. He handled 11 carries and scored a TD in Week 1 despite still looking past his prime. This week he should be viewed as a subpar flex option.

Zack Moss, Cincinnati Bengals (Neck)

Moss was listed with a neck injury, however, it looks like he's fine for Week 2. Despite a ton of speculation about Chase Brown capturing the RB1 job in Cincinnati this offseason, Moss served as the clear lead back in Week 1 and there is no reason to believe that won't be the case in Week 2. He's a low-end RB2 at best and a flex option at worst this week against the Chiefs.

Wide Receivers

A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles (Hamstring)

This is a scary one. Brown popped up with a hamstring injury late in the week. His status should be considered very much up in the air for Sunday as he's been slapped with a questionable tag. Even if he does play, the fear of an aggravation or limited snap count looms. Still, if he's active you have to start him.

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals (Hamstring)

Higgins is once again doubtful this week due to a lingering hamstring injury. There were some rumors that he was faking his injury due to a contract dispute this week, but he convincingly shot them down. These injuries tend to drag on and have been a recurring theme throughout his career. Hopefully, he's back in action for Week 3.

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears (Knee)

Odunze is listed as questionable for Week 2, but it sounds like he's on the wrong side of questionable. There is a good chance he will end up being a game-time decision this week. We would look for other options regardless of whether he plays or not on Sunday. It's a risk we aren't willing to take.

Keenan Allen, Chicago Bears (Heel)

Allen on the other hand sounds like he is more likely to play and on the right side of questionable. If Allen plays and Odunze is ruled out it should be a nice boost for Allen's floor. The concern is re-injury though. He made it through last week but was limping around quite a bit. We are viewing him as a solid WR3 with both upside and risk this week against the Texans.

Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions (Ankle)

After the best game of his life in Week 1, Williams is on the injury report with an ankle injury. He is no stranger to the injury report and has been ruled out multiple times in the past despite an injury not seeming to be overly alarming. We are hoping he's out there this week and builds off his monster Week 1 performance. This will be something to monitor. Assuming he plays, this adds more risk to an already volatile fantasy option with a massive boom-or-bust upside who can win you a week with one big play.

Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers (Calf/Shin)

Reed is officially listed as questionable for Week 2. We expect him to play but are hesitant to start any Packers' wideouts with Willis under center. We'd rather avoid all of their pass catchers until Love returns from his knee injury. Reed would be the top option if we have to start someone in that WR corps though.

Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings (Ankle)

Addison has been ruled out with an ankle injury for Week 2. Jalen Nailor looks like he should be the next man up at wideout with Addison out. We wouldn't be plugging him into our lineups as anything more than a desperation flex or DFS dart throw this week.

Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers (Knee)

Palmer popped up on the injury report late last week and played in Week 1 but was generally ineffective. He is once again listed as questionable this week. We wouldn't be excited to start any Chargers' wideouts until we get more data on how that passing attack is going to look. Ladd McConkey was the top producer in Week 1 but that could change. However, they have a great matchup against the Panthers this week. The rushing attack would be more of our focus though and Palmer is a risky start with some upside if he ends up being the top target against a terrible defense.

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts (Ankle)

There is a chance Downs makes his season debut this week, but is far from a lock to play after being slapped with a questionable tag. We wouldn't be starting him until we see him out there, productive, and healthy for a week. He's not worth the risk.

Marquise Brown, Kansas City Chiefs (Shoulder)

Brown will undergo surgery and has been placed on injured reserve. He will miss an extended amount of time, making Xavier Worthy a significantly less volatile start moving forward. Brown's absence won't affect much else in Kansas City, who will be fine without him.

Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys (Knee)

There was some hope Ferguson wouldn't miss any time. Unfortunately, he has been listed as doubtful and is expected to miss at least one week after injuring his knee in Week 1. Luke Schoonmaker will fill in as the TE1. He is nothing more than a cheap dart throw in DFS tournaments.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns (Ankle)

Njoku will not play after injuring his ankle in Week 1 after being officially ruled out. Jordan Akins is expected to get the start in his absence. We wouldn't consider Adkins in any format in what looks to be a brutal Browns' passing attack led by a diminished Deshaun Watson
