Week 5 Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart Watch: Kenneth Walker Among RB Trio Ascending | Target Jayden Reed and Buy Low on Mark Andrews?

Diving into the FantasySP Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart and determining how to approach players who are moving up or down.

Morgan Rode Oct 3rd 3:23 PM EDT.

Another week of football is nearly here, so it’s time to take a look at the FantasySP Trade Value Chart and point out some of the biggest movers.

The Trade Value Chart is used in the FSP Trade Analyzer and many other tools here. By checking out the biggest movers each week, you can know when to buy/sell a fantasy player. Here’s last week’s story. Let’s get into it!

Kenneth Walker, Jordan Mason, D'Andre Swift Rising

Walker, Mason and Swift are three running backs who got a nice boost over the past week. Each player got at least a two-point boost to their player rating.

Walker returned to the field in week 4 after missing weeks 2 and 3 and went off for 80 yards and three touchdowns on just 12 rushing attempts. He added 36 receiving yards on four receptions and five targets.

That’s obviously fantastic fantasy production, but it was his dominance of the Seattle backfield that fantasy owners really should take note of. Walker got 53 snaps to 38 for backup Zach Charbonnet. Charbonnet had just seven touches.

Charbonnet starred when Walker was out with his injury, and I’d imagine the Seahawks are going to keep the backup back involved moving forward. Even if they do, Walker just proved he can still be a big-time fantasy asset. There’s no reason to be wary of putting him in your fantasy lineups right now, and that’s a massive thing.

If you are looking to trade for Walker, I’d do it now, because it seems unlikely that his trade value would ever fall this season. It’s much more likely that it just keeps rising.

Mason really deserves to be higher on the Trade Value Chart, but the uncertainty surrounding Christian McCaffrey holds him back some. Mason continues to deliver as a fantasy asset though, helping the owners who scooped him up and becoming more and more valuable with each passing week.

Mason already has 447 rushing yards and three scores on the ground, along with 57 receiving yards on six catches and seven targets. He’s another player you can lock into your fantasy lineup every week.

If you are stacked with fantasy backs, I’d heavily consider selling Mason high. There’s a chance he serves as the Niners’ lead back all season, but if you don’t need him, you could swap Mason for a top-end receiver, or a couple weekly starting options.

If you have been starting Mason every week without much doubt, then I’d just hang on to him. The fantasy production he’ll provide will keep your fantasy team competitive now and give you the best chance of making the playoffs.

Swift was trending down in last week’s article, but he’s back on the rise after a monster game in week 4. He rushed for 93 yards and a score on 16 attempts, while adding 72 receiving yards on seven catches and targets.

Most importantly, he dominated the Chicago backfield, getting 38 snaps to just 22 for Roschon Johnson, who had only seven touches. Johnson did score, and while he’s likely to remain somewhat involved every week, Swift looks like the clear leader in that backfield for the time being.

If you bought Swift low last week, you have to be feeling like a thief right now. If you fall under that category - or are still holding him after drafting him - and still don’t believe in Swift, now might be a time to sell high on him. If you want to sell high, I’d wait another week, because Swift has an incredibly favorable matchup against the Panthers this weekend.

Hope that Swift goes off for a second straight week and then sell him for an even bigger return. It’s worth noting that Swift also has a favorable matchup in week 6 against the Jaguars, another above-average clash against the Commanders in week 8 and a pretty favorable battle with the Cardinals in week 9. That’s a month’s worth of favorable matchups in a row, and something your fantasy team might need. Assess your situation and react accordingly.

Jayden Reed Slides into Top 35

Reed moved up nearly a full two points as well, and now sits inside the top 35. Reed was drafted around pick 81, so he’s a potential sell high candidate.

For the hardcore fantasy leagues out there, most fantasy owners realize that Reed is the Packers’ clear No. 1 option. For some newer fantasy football owners, or those who aren’t quite as in tune with everything happening around the league, Reed’s game logs might be used to acquire Reed for a relatively reasonable price still.

In his two games with Jordan Love at quarterback, Reed has finished first and second in PPR scoring leagues. In the two games without Love, Reed was 53rd and 42nd in PPR scoring. Some fantasy owners might not connect the dots, and then you can acquire Reed for cheaper.

It’s worth at least reaching out to the fantasy owner who rosters Reed to see what the asking price is. You might only have to part with a single player who isn’t ranked nearly as high as Reed is right now, or maybe throw a couple flex options in return.

If I rostered Reed (I do in one dynasty league, thank goodness), I’m doing everything I can to keep Reed on my roster. He’s a top-end fantasy option at the position right now, and while he might not keep up that pace every week, he’s far outplaying his ADP, and until there’s signs of slowing down with Love playing quarterback, I’d ride with Reed as long as I could.

Mark Andrews Free Falling

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but Andrews fell 3.3 points over the past week. He sits 149th overall, and honestly probably should be even lower, but his big name and past still give him a little value.

Andrews has gone without a catch in the past two weeks, and only had two catches for 14 yards back in week 1. His lone solid fantasy performance was in week 2, when he had 51 yards on four catches and five targets.

Andrews’ own percentage still sits at 92%, which is a bit of a surprise given his struggles, but he was a top 50 fantasy pick, so I get just stashing him on your bench.

If I rostered Andrews, I’d throw his name on the trade block so see if anyone is willing to pay for the big name instead of this season’s production. You won’t get a massive return, but might get a player at a bigger position of need, or maybe a TE and then a RB/WR who are flex options.

The reason I bring Andrews up is because his value is dropping so rapidly. Fantasy owners are trying to get something for him instead of just dropping him. If I had a fantasy roster that was set at each position, throwing a cheap return back for Andrews isn’t the worst idea. He doesn’t need to start for you, but if he finds his former self in the second half of the season, you have a player who could work into your lineup and help you chase fantasy glory.

I think the deeper the league, the more I’d try to buy low on Andrews. I don’t expect him to continue to struggle this much, and at some point he’ll turn in at least a few good fantasy performances. Choosing whether or not to pursue him comes down to your current fantasy roster, but it’s definitely something to at least consider in the right situations.

Happy trading, and good luck in week 5!
