Santana Struggles in High-Leverage Spots as Pirates Search for Bullpen Stability

Dennis Santana has hit a rough patch, posting a 5.29 ERA and an inflated 2.35 WHIP over his last five appearances. Despite these struggles, our data still lists him as the primary option in the ninth inning for the third-place Pirates, who are currently sliding on a three-game losing streak. Late-inning depth is tested with Chris Devenski on the injured list.
