Week 6 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Daniel Jones, Antonio Gibson, Josh Downs, Juwan Johnson and More
These sleepers can help you win your week if you need them.
Quarterbacks
Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
Williams is coming off by far his best game as an NFL quarterback, and this week takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are allowing the most fantasy points in the league to the position. If last week was anything close to a sign of things to come, he should be in line for another fantastic game.
He looks like he may be developing into the quarterback prospect experts believed he was, or at the very least a competent NFL quarterback who can be utilized as a matchup-based fantasy option.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Jones has been playing well as of late and his ability to run gives him a decent floor as long as he doesn't completely implode. The absence of Malik Nabers does scare us a bit, but the matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals is tremendous this week.
They are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and have really been struggling this season. At the very least, Jones should have a solid game this week.
Running Backs
Antonio Gibson, New England Patriots
Originally when this list was made, Rhamondre Stevenson had not been ruled out for Week 6 yet. However, we still believe that he fits as a sleeper for this week.
Gibson hasn't been the most successful running back since joining the league and he's in a terrible offense. Stevenson wasn't even a must-start at this point. Gibson has to be considered an option when he is his team's RB1, especially, when you consider what an excellent pass-catcher he is, even if the offense caps his ceiling.
Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears
Johnson has looked far from spectacular as a runner the past few weeks, even with his increased workload. However, he has taken over as the goal-line back. Over the past two weeks, he has scored three TDs. This comes after him not getting any work at all during the first two weeks due to a coach's decision. As his role continues to expand, his production should only increase.
Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans
This one comes with a caveat. If Joe Mixon plays, you can disregard Pierce completely. With that said, Mixon is far from a lock. As we've learned in recent weeks, even when it seems like he will be back, we can't be quite sure.
It does look like Pierce is finally ready to return from his hamstring injury though. If he is in and Mixon is out, Pierce is expected to serve as the RB1 ahead of Cam Akers.
Wide Receivers
Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys
Tolbert was a prospect we were high on coming out of South Alabama and he's beginning to come into his own. With Brandin Cooks sidelined and Dallas throwing the ball at a near-constant rate, Tolbert is starting to flourish with more volume.
Last week, he saw 10 targets and turned them into seven receptions for 87 yards and a TD. That's his second TD in three weeks. There is no reason to believe he won't continue to produce this week against a Detroit Lions defense that has given up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants
Only once this season has Robinson been targeted less than eight times in a game. Nabers got injured in Week 4 and over the past two games he's been targeted 23 times. We already know that Nabers has been ruled out again for Week 6, so there should be plenty of targets heading his way again this week.
Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts
Downs has already been slowly sliding into the WR1 role in Indy as far as volume goes. Through three games, he has seen 26 targets, which he's turned into 20 receptions for 173 yards and a TD. Now Michael Pittman is expected to miss multiple weeks. They say he's not officially ruled out, but we don't expect him to play and we definitely don't expect him to be playing close to 100%. This should lead to Downs seeing all the targets he can handle.
Tight Ends
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
Johnson has come along slowly after coming off foot surgery to start the season. He has slowly seen his role increase as he retakes his TE1 job from Foster Moreau. It's evident that Johnson is the superior pass-catching tight end and this trend will only continue moving forward. We have seen him have league-winning type stretches as recently as last season and he's on the verge of becoming a legitimate weekly starter and is a great sleeper option - not for just this week but potentially moving forward.
