Week 6 Fantasy Football Expert Start/Sit Decisions: Lamar Jackson or Jayden Daniels, Tyler Allgeier or Rashid Shaheed, Erick All or Hayden Hurst, and More
The experts need help sometimes too. I'd love your feedback and advice. Hit me up on Twitter at @CoolCutter21.
Quarterback Questions
Lamar Jackson vs. Jayden Daniels
Here we are again with me going back and forth between these two studs. I understand it's a good problem to have, but it's a problem nonetheless. This week it's even more interesting because they play each other in real life head to head. All week I've had Lamar locked in against the Commanders, but I'm starting to waver.
While the Ravens have the superior defense despite them giving up more fantasy points to quarterbacks than the Commanders so far this season, the game script could favor Daniels. Every week I agonize over this decision and I've actually gotten it right every week so far. My luck will run out at some point though. I'd really love some input on this one.
Running Back Questions
Joe Mixon vs. Brian Robinson vs. Chase Brown
If you've been following these articles you may notice that I have officially moved off of Zack Moss for Brown. However, this week I still have to sit one of these running backs. All three have injury designations and are questionable, further complicating my decision. For reference, this is a PPR league with .25 points per carry.
If all were healthy, Mixon and Robinson would be the easy choice regardless of the matchup. However, that's not the case.
Robinson has the worst matchup against Baltimore, while Mixon has the best against the Patriots. Still, Robinson has been finding a way to fall into the end zone. Robinson's knee is troubling, while Mixon hasn't played since Week 2 with an ankle sprain.
As of now, I'm leaning toward Mixon and Brown if all three play, but it will be hard not to plug in Robinson with how well he's playing. If Mixon plays, he's pretty much a lock though.
Chase Brown vs. Rico Dowdle vs. Alexander Mattison vs. Tyrone Tracy vs. Tyler Goodson
We've done this before and got some feedback. So let's do it again. This is a question my son has, who took over a 10-man keeper team with a salary cap this year. It's his first ever league and he's currently 2-3 after taking over the worst team in the league. He has to bench two of these players. This is also a PPR league with .25 points per carry.
Tracy is an easy sit if Singletary plays, but may become a must-start if he doesn't. Goodson is probably the least likely to get in the lineup, but does have some PPR upside. However, if Tracy plays, which one of the other three do you bench?
Dowdle has the worst matchup, but thrived with a bad matchup last week. Brown has the best matchup, however, he'll probably see the least amount of volume. Mattison has a tough matchup and is in a new-look offense, which isn't expected to be very good. I would lean toward benching him. I could be completely wrong though.
What do you guys think? Let me know on Twitter and I'll be sure to give him your advice.
Wide Receiver Questions
Rashid Shaheed vs. Drake London
With injuries and bye weeks, this is my only real wide receiver question this week. At this point, I'm lucky I have enough wideouts to fill out my rosters. This has been a quandary for me most of the season and I haven't exactly nailed it.
Shaheed has been the more consistent wideout with big play upside, while London exploded last week and has been finding the end zone. Ultimately, I currently have London in my lineup because of the uncertainty Spencer Rattler brings to the passing attack in New Orleans.
Flex Questions
Tyler Allgeier vs. Rashid Shaheed
Now that we established London is in at receiver, I also have to pick a flex. Allgeier is a great start this week against the Panthers, and could very well outscore Shaheed who is entering a potentially tumultuous situation. We don't know who Rattler will target or if he'll be able to move the ball at all.
However, there is one issue looming large. Bijan Robinson is already a starting running back on this team. Is it crazy to start both Falcons' running backs this week?
Tight End Questions
Erick All vs. Hayden Hurst
This is an ugly choice and I promise I hate it more than you. However, I do have to start two tight ends in this league and this week I already started Noah Fant who did well.
Currently, I have All in and I don't have a particularly good reason. I'd love for someone to give me any confidence in either of these guys because I don't have any. The only glimmer of hope I have is that Mike Gesicki popped up on the injury report and there is a slight chance that All could see a boost in volume.
