Week 7 of the NFL regular season just has two Monday night games remaining. We’ll recap those games on Tuesday, but let’s take a look at the top IDP players and some injury news from Sunday’s games.

We already took a look at some offensive player fantasy football takeaways in another story, so be sure to check that out too.

Tackle Leaders

Indianapolis’ Grant Stuard leads the NFL with 19 total tackles. He hadn’t recorded a single tackle all season, so this performance really came out of nowhere. E.J. Speed was out with an injury, opening the opportunity for Stuard, and if Speed misses more time, Stuard could be worth IDP starts going forward - I’d assume the team finds a way to get him on the field a bit more moving forward after this big performance.

Indy’s Zaire Franklin had 16 total tackles alongside Stuard. Franklin is up to 76 tackles on the season, so this performance isn’t nearly as surprising. He also forced a fumble on Sunday, and remains one of the best IDP options in the game.

Cincinnati's Germaine Pratt had 13 total tackles on Sunday. It was his second time in double digits for tackles this season, and he’s now got 71 total on the season. That makes Pratt a weekly starter in most IDP leagues.

Malik Mustapha stepped into a bigger role in week 7 and delivered a big performance with 12 total tackles. He had just 13 tackles coming into the game, but with Talanoa Hufanga on injured reserve, Mustapha could be a decent IDP starting option for at least a couple more weeks.

New England’s Kyle Dugger had 11 combined tackles and a pass defensed on Sunday. After having just nine tackles over the past three games, Dugger broke out in week 7. He’s only an IDP starting option in deeper setups, but he’s a player to keep an eye on after the big performance.

Seattle’s Coby Bryant tallied 11 total tackles, a pass defensed and picked off a pass on Sunday. It was easily his best game of the season, as he’s now got 18 total tackles overall. This looks more like a one-week outlier than anything, but he’ll get some love in deeper IDP leagues after this showing.

Philadelphia’s Nakobe Dean went for 11 combined tackles on Sunday, including two sacks. He had 12 tackles in week 6, so Dean appears to be hitting a groove. He’s got 49 tackles over six games, showing he’s a good IDP option.

Jacksonville’s Devin Lloyd posted 11 tackles, including a sack, on Sunday. He’s up to 47 tackles over six games, which is pretty good production. Lloyd also has the sack, a forced fumble and two passes defensed, flashing some IDP upside.

Cincinnati’s Logan Wilson had 10 total tackles on Sunday. He’s got nine or more tackles in all seven games, and now has 71 total tackles on the season. That’s enough IDP production to play him in a good amount of leagues.

Jacksonville’s Ventrell Miller went for 10 combined tackles on Sunday. He’s now reached double-digit tackles in three of the past four games. That’s enough reason to add and play him in a good amount of leagues.

Buffalo’s Dorian Williams recorded 10 tackles in week 7. He’s topped six tackles in each game and has 70 for the season now. With two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery on the season, Williams is a really good IDP option.

Pittsburgh’s Payton Wilson logged 10 tackles in week 7. He’s had six or more tackles over the past four games, and while it hasn’t been accompanied by any other stats, Wilson is a pretty solid IDP option.

Minnesota’s Ivan Pace Jr. had 10 total tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in week 7. He’s played in four games, and has 31 tackles, two sacks and the fumble recovery in that span. You need to watch his status, and the status of other injured linebackers on the team, but when Pace is out there, he’s doing enough to be considered in a good amount of IDP leagues.

Multiple Sacks

Only six players have logged multiple sacks so far this week.

Minnesota’s Andrew Van Ginkel had two sacks, seven total tackles and a forced fumble this week. He’s got 26 total tackles across six games, but his five sacks, forced fumble and interception show his IDP upside. He’s worth starting in a bunch of leagues.

Green Bay’s Eric Wilson had six total tackles and two sacks. He took on a larger role after Quay Walker left with a concussion. If Walker remains out in week 8, Wilson might be worth a start.

New York Giants’ Dexter Lawrence II had two sacks across his five total tackles on Sunday. He’s up to 24 tackles and nine sacks for the season, which is more than enough production to start him in leagues where sacks are rewarded.

Philadelphia’s Jalen Carter had two sacks across four tackles. He now had three sacks and 14 tackles for the season. Carter doesn’t have a ton of fantasy appeal without registering any sacks, but with three sacks over the past two games, he’s worth an add to see if he can keep things rolling.

Cincinnati’s Trey Hendrickson had two sacks across three tackles on Sunday. He now has seven sacks and 17 tackles on the season. Hendrickson also had two sacks in two straight games, showing he needs to be owned in almost all IDP leagues and started weekly.

Other Standouts

Pittsburgh’s Beanie Bishop Jr. had six total tackles, two passes defensed and two interceptions in week 7. Bishop has 20 tackles overall, four passes defensed and the two picks. This was a one-game outlier, but as a rookie, he’s worth at least monitoring in case he starts to take off after the big showing.

Los Angeles Rams’ Jaylen McCollough had a tackle, two passes defended and two interceptions on Sunday. He has just five tackles this season, but three passes defensed and three picks over the past two games. He’ll get some love in deeper IDP leagues as a result.

Houston’s Neville Hewitt had nine tackles, two passes defensed and a pick this week. He’s got 17 tackles over the past two weeks, and if some of his LB teammates remain out with injuries, Hewitt is looking like a solid streaming option.

Kansas City’s Justin Reid had nine tackles, a pass defensed and a pick this week. He’s got 35 tackles and two passes defensed on the season now. He’s not a super consistent performer, but in deeper setups, he’s worth starting because of the upside.

Seattle’s Julian Love had nine tackles, a pass defensed and a pick on Sunday. He’s got 29 tackles and two passes defensed over the past three weeks, which is enough production to add and play him in a bunch of IDP setups.

Injuries

Buffalo’s Terrel Bernard suffered an ankle injury in week 7. He has 32 total tackles, a pick, a pass defensed and a fumble recovery this season, showing how good an IDP option he is and what his absence could mean.

Cincinnati’s Geno Stone suffered a left leg injury. He has 37 tackles, an interception and two passes defensed this season, making him a solid IDP option who would be missed if he were out.

Indy’s Jaylon Carlies left with a calf injury. He’s been trending up over the past couple weeks, and got his first career sack on Sunday, so this is something that could at least slow him for a bit.

Kansas City’s Jaylen Watson suffered an ankle injury. He’s got 32 tackles and six passes defensed, and would be missed on a stout KC defense if he has to miss any time.

Giants’ Cor'Dale Flott left with a groin injury. He’s had a couple solid fantasy performances this season, and has 30 tackles and three passes defensed, so his absence could weaken an already poor Giants’ defense.

New York Jets’ Tony Adams suffered a hamstring injury, while Ashtyn Davis went down with a concussion. Adams has 48 tackles, a sack and five passes defensed this season, while Davis is at 15 tackles. Losing either player would hurt a Jets’ defense that already hasn’t been nearly as good as what people expected coming into the season.

Pittsburgh’s Donte Jackson, who has 20 tackles, six passes defensed and three interceptions on the season, left with a shoulder injury. That could weaken what’s been a very stout Pittsburgh defense.

Philly’s Zack Baun left with a shoulder injury as well. He’s got 57 total tackles and two sacks across six games, so this could either slow him or weaken the Philly defense.
