Week 13 Fantasy Football Last-Minute Streamers: Bryce Young, Devaughn Vele, Dameon Pierce, Tommy Tremble and More
Two players at each offensive fantasy position who have good matchups and are widely available in fantasy leagues on Sunday morning.
It’s late on Thanksgiving week, so you’ve probably looked at your fantasy team at least once in anticipation of the early-week games. Some were too busy preparing for the holiday, though, or didn’t put much time into lineup construction and still need to find players late in the week.
That’s what we’re doing here: looking at guys who are probably free agents on Sunday morning and can be picked up and put into your lineup. Most of them are just one-week solutions, but that’s enough sometimes. At this point in the week, we are beggars not choosers.
Let’s look at two players at each offensive fantasy position who have good matchups and are widely available in fantasy leagues heading into Sunday. I used stats from NFL.com and our FantasySP defensive fantasy rankings to help determine the best matchups. I will reference those numbers often.
Quarterback
Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have been OK by some passing metrics, but they have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Cincinnati ended up with one of the worst pass defenses in the league last year, and they have only moderately improved in 2024.
Wilson is a two-week streamer, as the Steelers match up with another bad pass defense next week in Cleveland. Wilson just threw for 270 yards and a touchdown in the snow last Thursday against the Browns, so he will be expected to succeed again in Week 14.
Anyone without a weekly starter at quarterback has a nice player here for the next two games heading into the fantasy playoffs.
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay has allowed the 12th-most yards per pass attempt and the second-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Tommy Devito last week was the first passer the Bucs have kept under 240 yards since Week 4.
Young has shown some competence since stepping back into the starting lineup, giving hope that he can develop into something approximating a starting quarterback. Carolina needs so much help that it would be nice to not spend another top pick on a QB in the 2025 draft, so Young will get every chance to show he has improved.
Young isn’t a very good fantasy quarterback, but the matchup is in his favor if you’re desperate. This is one of the few times Young will have fantasy value.
Running Back
Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams @ New Orleans Saints
Corum is the clear backup behind Kyren Williams, generally getting between three and six touches per game. It’s not much, but the rookie gets on the field a little bit and gets the ball.
The matchup is what gives him some appeal here, as the Saints have allowed the second-most yards per rush attempt and eighth-most fantasy points per game to running backs.
It’s simply a backup running back with a good matchup here; the ceiling and floor are both fairly low, but he can fill a flex spot if you’re without another option.
Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags are near average in yards per rush attempt allowed, and they have given up the most fantasy points per game to running backs. Part of that is that Jacksonville is always getting beat; teams run against you when they have a lead and are milking the clock.
Joe Mixon will get plenty of work and is a great fantasy play, and his backup Pierce will pick up the excess carries. If the Texans do in fact take a lead, Pierce might get an extended run and a chance to accumulate some volume and get into the end zone.
He’s a backup, so Pierce has a ceiling, but the matchup puts him on the radar as a low-end player.
Wide Receiver
Xavier Legette and Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I talked about Tampa’s suspect pass defense above, and they have given up the seventh-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. It makes sense that a team that allows quarterbacks to excel will do the same with receivers, and that’s the case here.
Legette has shown flashes in his rookie season but not much consistency. Thielen returned from an eight-week absence last week to catch three passes for 57 yards against the Chiefs. Neither is a high-end option, but the matchup is right for possible fantasy success.
Either of these guys can fill in a WR3/4/flex spot if you’re without other options, but there is a low floor.
Devaughn Vele, Denver Broncos vs. Cleveland Browns
Vele is fourth on the Broncos in targets, third in receptions, and second in receiving yards. He has played the second-most snaps among Denver receivers in each of the past three games. A seventh-round rookie, Vele has worked into the WR2 role on a surprisingly good team.
The matchup is the star again here, as the Browns have given up the 10th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Bo Nix is one of my favorite fantasy quarterback streamers this week , and his young receiver fits the same bill.
Tight End
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams
LA has allowed the second-most yards per pass attempt and the eighth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends. The Rams are one of the most giving pass defenses in the league, a target for opposing fantasy players most weeks.
Johnson is the most productive tight end on the Saints from a standard pass-catching standpoint, though Taysom Hill does so many things that he’s irreplaceable for the offense. Johnson is more of the guy who is going to block on the end of the line and run routes, creating modest value in that role.
Johnson is just a low-level fantasy guy, but the matchup is in his favor to have a decent week. Foster Moreau is in the same situation, with Johnson getting a little more usage.
Tommy Tremble, Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ja'Tavion Sanders was my favorite tight end streamer last week, and that was going to continue into Week 13 until he took a nasty fall onto his head, ruling him out until further notice. Tremble is the next guy up with the great matchup against the Bucs.
We’ve been targeting Tampa’s pass defense throughout the article, so why not finish up there as well? The Bucs have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends, providing one of the best matchups to the position.
It’s an option with a super low floor, but Tremble is on the radar for those scrambling at tight end.
