Vikings Go Off
Minnesota scored 42 points, and the top-three fantasy scorers of the week are from that team.
Sam Darnold was 22-of-28 passing for 347 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. He added seven rushing yards on four carries.
Justin Jefferson went for 132 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches and targets. Jordan Addison had 133 yards and three scores on eight grabs and 12 targets.
Aaron Jones had 73 rushing yards and a score on 13 carries and 11 receiving yards on two receptions and targets.
Those kinds of numbers, especially for Darnold and Addison, aren’t replicable on a weekly basis, but this offense has shown time and time again that it can deliver big numbers.
Darnold actually had one of the toughest strength of schedules left coming into the week. He’s an above-average option, even in tough matchups.
Jones some fantasy owner’s minds with his solid day. He’s got some more favorable games ahead, so he’ll remain a good starting option.
Jefferson is a weekly starter, and Addison appears to be hitting his stride as well. Their matchups ahead are tough, but with their upside, they’ll be in starting lineups quite often.
And don’t forget about tight end T.J. Hockenson, who had 45 yards on four catches and five targets this week. He’s got some favorable matchups ahead, and is a good weekly option at a weak TE position.
Big Fantasy Performances Abound in Jets, Dolphins Game
Miami escaped with an overtime win over New York. The 32-26 final suggests a lot of offense, and there sure was.
Tua Tagovailoa stayed hot with 331 yards, two touchdowns and no picks on 33-of-47 passing. He’s another above-average weekly starting option the rest of the season.
Tyreek Hill had one of his better games of the season, catching 10 of his 14 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown. Even in a down season, lots of fantasy owners were still starting Hill every week, and this performance should get him back to starting in every league.
Jaylen Waddle had 99 yards on nine catches and 12 targets. He’s gotten going of late, and is looking like another good weekly option again.
Jonnu Smith has been red hot of late, but if not for an overtime TD, he would have had a pretty ehh fantasy showing. Smith had 44 yards and the score on three grabs and four targets. I’d keep starting him, especially at that weak fantasy TE spot.
Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock by completing 27 of his 39 passes for 339 yards, a touchdown and no picks. It was a bit of a surprise given the Dolphins are a tough defense for fantasy QBs to go up against. He’s a weekly streaming option, but with not a ton of season success, I wouldn’t expect these kinds of performances too many more times.
Garrett Wilson had 114 yards on seven catches and 10 targets. He’d struggled over the previous three weeks, so this was great to see for his fantasy owners.
Davante Adams kept rolling with 109 yards and a score on nine grabs and 11 targets. With a favorable schedule ahead, he and Wilson remain good/great weekly starting options.
A New No. 2 Wideout for Tampa?
Tampa Bay earned a 28-13 win over Las Vegas on Sunday. The biggest takeaway from the game was Jalen McMillan having a big game.
McMillan had 59 yards and two touchdowns on four catches and seven targets. He actually had the lowest yardage among four Tampa Bay pass catchers over 50 yards, but he was the only one in that group to score.
McMillan has been more involved offensively since Chris Godwin went down with a season-ending injury, but he hasn’t gone over 35 yards in a game this season.
If you take away the two scores, McMillan’s fantasy outing was still pretty solid. He definitely should get some more adds/starts in deeper leagues, and with a few favorable matchups ahead, he could become a sneaky good option down the stretch in standard leagues.
