After ranking the Divisional Round running backs and wide receivers on Thursday, I’m back to rank the quarterbacks and tight ends from this postseason round.

We’ll take a look at tight ends first. Check back soon for the quarterback article.

Divisional Round Matchups

In the game between the Texans and Chiefs, the Houston TEs have one of the most favorable matchups of the week. The Kansas City tight ends have a pretty average test ahead.

For the clash between the Commanders and Lions, Washington’s tight ends have the toughest matchup possible. The Detroit TEs have a pretty average matchup.

In the playoff contest involving the Rams and Eagles, the Los Angeles TEs have another very tough matchup, while the Philly guys have the best matchup of the week.

Finally, in the game between the Ravens and Bills, both teams have pretty average matchups, with the Buffalo tight ends having a bit better matchup.

Tight End Rankings

1. Dallas Goedert

I’m playing the matchups this week and turning to Goedert with my No. 1 spot. He’s coming off a nice showing in the Wild Card Round, tallying 47 yards and a touchdown on four receptions and six targets.

Another reason I like Goedert this week is because he was pretty involved in the regular season meeting against the Rams. He went for just 19 yards, but had four catches and five targets.

I think Goedert is a big part of the offensive gameplan this week, and believe he will take advantage of the favorable matchup and deliver a big fantasy score.

2. Travis Kelce

I’m going with Kelce for my No. 2 spot. He’s had a couple weeks to rest up, and always seems to take his game to a new level in the postseason.

Kelce averaged 12.2 PPR fantasy points per game this season. He tallied 22.4 in his last game in week 17.

He had 30 yards on five catches and seven targets in the regular season game against Houston. Again, that’s not great in terms of his yardage, but the catches and targets are. Kelce should have a big game this weekend.

3. Sam LaPorta

I’ll take LaPorta next. He was a bit of a disappointment this season, but got going a bit down the stretch.

He averaged 10.9 PPR points per game for the season, but upped that average to 13.6 from week 12 on. LaPorta scored at least 13 fantasy points in each of the final four weeks.

The matchup is just average, but I still expect LaPorta to turn in a big showing. If he scores a time or two, he could lead all tight ends this weekend.

4. Mark Andrews

I have Andrews fourth on my list. I’m not as high on him as others are.

He only had 27 yards on two catches and three targets last week, and has another fully capable pass-catching tight end to deal with on his own team.

In the regular season meeting with the Bills, Andrews did not catch his only target. That was in week 4, which was part of an extremely slow start to the season for Andrews. I think he does more in this game, but he’s not a very good starting option to me.

5. Dalton Schultz

I’m riding with another favorable matchup and trying Schultz fifth.

He had just 23 yards on two receptions and four targets in the Wild Card Round. Schultz went for 45 yards and a touchdown on five catches and eight targets against KC in the regular season.

That regular season matchup gives me hope for Schultz, and I think he posts a nice fantasy score this weekend. He could finish higher than fifth if he finds the end zone.

6. Dalton Kincaid

I’m taking another matchup that’s a bit more favorable and trying Kincaid here.

He went for 47 yards on three grabs and targets in the first round of the playoffs. Kincaid had 47 yards on five catches and seven targets in the first meeting with Baltimore.

I know Kincaid has been tough to trust this season, but with a bit better matchup than most, coming off a decent game and also having a solid showing against his opponent already, I think Kincaid is maybe worth playing this week.

7. Zach Ertz

I want to take Ertz higher, but that matchup scares me.

He’s also coming off a two-catch, 23-yard performance in the Wild Card Round. Ertz did have four targets though.

Ertz has been inconsistently involved on offense all season, which is another reason why I’m down on him. He’s got a decent ceiling, but a low floor. Tread carefully here.

8. Isaiah Likely

Likely is the guy who can steal production away from Andrews.

He did last week, with Likely finishing with 53 yards on three catches and four targets. Likely had a 26-yard catch across two targets in the regular season game against Buffalo.

Likely is a lot like Ertz in that he’s been inconsistently involved. The matchup is solid enough to try Likely in some cases, but there’s definitely better options out there.

9. Tyler Higbee (Colby Parkinson if Higbee is out)

Higbee was a surprise performer in the Wild Card Round, but also left with a chest injury. He’s expected to play against Philly.

Higbee had 58 yards on five catches and targets in the Wild Card Round. He didn’t play against the Eagles in the regular season, and only has four games played on the season.

I want to take Higbee higher, but the injury mixed with a brutal matchup doesn’t allow me to. Maybe he can surprise for a second straight week?

Parkinson would take Higbee’s spot if the starter is out with his injury. I expect Higbee to play, so we’ll talk about Parkinson more below.

10. Grant Calcaterra

Calcaterra had just a four-yard catch on his lone target last week, but he played enough offensive snaps to mention in this article.

He only had one target, and failed to catch it, in the regular season clash against the Rams. Calcaterra is more of a longshot lottery ticket play, but in a super favorable matchup, maybe he makes enough catches to turn in a good score.

11. Dawson Knox

Knox went for 38 yards on two receptions and three targets a week ago, so he’s worth mentioning. He caught a pass for no yards in the regular season clash with Baltimore.

Again, the matchup is favorable enough to maybe try, even though we’re talking about a second tight end on a team.

12. Noah Gray

Gray had a hot streak in the middle portion of the season, but faded down the stretch. He only had five catches across the final four weeks.

One of those games was against Houston, when he tallied a 10-yard catch on his only target. He’s another longshot lottery ticket play.

13. Colby Parkinson (if Higbee is active)

Parkinson had 13 yards across two catches and targets last week. He had a 10-yard catch across two targets in the regular season game against the Eagles.

He’s not a very good fantasy option, unless Higbee were to miss the game. Even then, I wouldn’t expect too big of a game from Parkinson.

14. Davis Allen

Allen caught a 13-yard touchdown across two targets in the Wild Card Round. He didn’t catch his only target against Philly in the regular season.

I’d stay away from Allen, even after he scored last week, and if Higbee is out. He’s a desperation play this weekend.

15. John Bates

Bates didn’t catch his only target last week. He only has eight catches for 84 yards on the season, but he played enough snaps to at least mention.

He’s a big-time desperation play this week, and probably wouldn’t be that involved even if Ertz were out.
