November 1 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Matchup Rankings: Dan Vladar, Jake Oettinger, Anton Forsberg and More
Friday's best goalie matchup for fantasy hockey.
Goalies are like catchers in baseball. They stand at the most important part of the playing surface (home plate/the goal) and can see everything that’s happening. These players can direct traffic with a view of the action that no one else enjoys. We know how important goalies are, but we don’t REALLY know all the little things they do, just like catchers.
Let’s run through Friday’s goalie matchups based on opponent shot- and goal-per-game averages. Team rankings in those categories were compared to give each team a matchup score. A positive score means the team shoots a lot and doesn’t score much, theoretically giving more quality save opportunities. This focuses strictly on opponents and doesn't factor in goalie ability.
I listed both goalies who have played this season for each team. Check the starting lineups before game time to make sure you have the right guy in your lineup. All stats are from NHL.com.
