The Green Bay Packers took a 7-0 lead over the Detroit Lions on the first drive of Thanksgiving Day thanks to impressive plays from young receivers Christian Watson and Jayden Reed.
Jordan Love hit Watson deep for 53 yards on the opening play, and Reed finished off the scoring drive with a 10-yard touchdown catch on a pinpoint throw from Love.
The Packers, who won the opening toss and took the ball, needed only five plays and 2:44 of game time to get on the board.
Love was 3-for-3 for 73 yards and a touchdown pass on the opening drive. His passer rating was a perfect 158.3

Game News
The Detroit Lions are in pretty good shape on the injury front entering Week 12. Their Thanksgiving foe, the Green Bay Packers, is not so fortunate.
The Packers had an extensive final injury report. Two key starters, RB Aaron Jones and safety Darnell Savage, have been ruled out with injuries. But the issues don’t stop there.
Another running back, Emmanuel Wilson, was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. He would have been the No. 2 RB with Jones out. Rookie TE Luke Musgrave was also placed on I.R. with a lacerated kidney. Musgrave is second on the team in receptions, while Jones is fifth — aside from being Green Bay’s top rushing opinion when healthy
After the Minnesota Vikings lost a game in the standings to the Detroit Lions with their loss to the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers gave them a gift by beating the Lions on Thanksgiving Day by a score of 29-22.
The Packers got off to a fast start with a 53-yard pass to Christian Watson on the first play of the game and jumped out to a 23-6 lead. The Lions fought and tried to get back into the game, but multiple failed fourth-down conversions in the second half including a botched fake punt cost them.
Right now, the Vikings sit two games behind the Lions and can climb within 1.5 games of them with a win over the Chicago Bears on Monday night
After coming close last week, Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Tucker Kraft scored his first NFL touchdown on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.
The opportunity for Kraft to find the end zone began with the play design and call by Matt LaFleur. The majority of Kraft’s snaps this season have come as a blocker with 121 blocking snaps this season compared to 84 where he has ran routes, according to PFF.
From a formation that the Packers have run out of often this season, Kraft began as a blocker, engaging with Lions edge rusher. He then slipped out into the flat where there wasn’t a Detroit defender close by, setting up the easy score
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff struggled to move his offense consistently for the second game in five days.
The Thanksgiving game in Ford Field features a Lions team that enters the Week 12 contest with just one player ruled out for an injury. In fact, left guard Jonah Jackson (wrist) was the only Detroit player with any injury designation at all.
That means the weekly inactive list is full of healthy scratches. And healthy scratches mean we get a glimpse of the pecking order of the bottom of the Lions roster.
We got an early idea when the Lions elevated DT Quinton Bohanna and OL Michael Schofield from the practice squad. After adding them into the mix, the Lions made the following players inactive
Lions head coach Dan Campbell advised fans to wear diapers during games due to his propensity to take big risks and they might be throwing them at Campbell after his most recent one backfired.
